Tweaking my Stasis deck
Legacy Deck Help forum

This is my lovely pet-deck: Tipping the scale. Its a deck built around Stasis and even tho the strategy isn't the best it is really fun to play and it does win a fair amount of games.
The biggest problem this deck has is to not be able to assemble the Ral Zarek + Stasis lock early enough. Its crucial that i get it early, and when its locked up i usually win.
I need a cheap reliable tutor that finds planeswalkers and enchantments, and the card that comes closest i think is Lim-Dul's Vault. Now, I know its not the best card around, but it does find whatever i need and it does that instant speed. Searching for something you have has a 4-of usually doesn't cost more that 3-4 life. I like to think of it as a Vampiric Tutor with Index glued to it :D.
I would need to add black to the deck if i were to use Lim-Dul's Vault. Its hard to add a 4th color, so I guess i would need to replace 2-3x Ancient Tomb with fetchable black sources.
Do you think this would improve the deck, or is running Ancient Tomb just better? Any suggestions for other reliable ways to get Ral Zarek or Stasis to my hand?
I appreciate all help i could get. And its my birthday today so you should be extra helpful XD.
Serra_Sentinel I play this online and IRL (on paper i have Polluted Delta instead of Scalding Tarn and only 8 fetches tho). The explosiveness is important, especially since this deck has lots of 4-drops. Altho, its to no use if i dont have Ral Zarek AND Stasis in my hand (I never play Ral without following it up with Stasis, preferably the same turn).
If i were to run 3 Lim-Dul's Vault, do you think 2 black sources would be enough? Then i could take out one Ancient Tomb and one of either Plateau, Island or a Polluted Delta for them. I only need the black the turn i play Lim-Dul, so i don't really have to worry about getting cut off by Wasteland.
Would this be ideal, or is the slightly less consistent mana base not worth it?

The only thing I can tell you is to try it out online and see if it feels right/better for you. I'm no legacy efficuanato or anything, but, from what I've seen on Opens and things, a 4C mana base, especially as light a splash as yours, isn't going to kill you in Legacy.

Heres a list with Lim-Dul: Tipping the Lim-Dul Scale. I removed 1 Ponder, 1 Chain of Vapor and 1 Jace, the Mind Sculptor for 3 Lim-Dul's Vault. Added 1 Scrubland and 1 Badlands to my mana base, taking out 1 Polluted Delta and 1Plateau. Trying to stay away from Underground Sea for now :).
Im gonna try this out online.. thanks.

Underground Sea, while having a nice price tag, is probably worth it, especially with how important blue is in the deck anyway.

Yup, I tried the list and even tho I won I had trouble casting Jace for the double blue. Im gonna try to trade for Underground Sea.

Oh and I probably won because of Lim-Dul's Vault. Had to repeat 3 times to find Ral Zarek, so if it wasn't for Lim-Dul's Vault i would have drawn 20 cards before Ral Zarek. I like it :)

I could maybe skip white and go Grixis.. Is there antyhing black that could fill the void of Swords to Plowshares and Moat?

I don't really think there's any reason to forego white. You should probably just do your best to tweak the mana base and go from there. It sounds like you're having a blast though : )

I don't think it's a completely terrible idea to run Vault, but, you lose the explosiveness of having two colorless mana and a possible T3 Ral into Stasis the following turn. Are you testing this online, or, is this the deck you play IRL?
