UW Spirits for FNM with friends
Legacy Deck Help forum

Pretty new to Legacy and I need something that can compete with burn/aggro/midrange decks.
I've put together a prototype that looks something like:
Creatures:
- 4x Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
- 4x Drogskol Captain
- 4x Mausoleum Wanderer
- 4x Rattlechains
- 4x Selfless Spirit
- 2x Geist of Saint Traft
Instants:
Sorceries:
- 4x Ponder
Any suggestions/changes for the sideboard or deck?
@Boza
- Budget would be around 100 euros
- The deck would only be played against friends
- preferred archetype would be control or midrange
- decks I am gonna play against would be burn, storm, death & taxes, mill, elves and aggro vehicles
- I am sorry

Damn, that is a tough budget to work with. I love the excuse though. So, lets work with it. Human tribal seems to be the way to go, as we need disruption more than anything else.
4 Mother of Runes - vs other creatures and removal and burn
4 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben - vs storm, mill, vehicles and burn
4 Meddling Mage - vs everything
3 Mayor of Avabruck
Flip - mass pump
2 Sylvan Safekeeper - vs removal
3 Ethersworn Canonist - vs elves and storm
2 Grand Abolisher - vs counterspells
2 Deftblade Elite - vs elves
2 Kambal, Consul of Allocation - vs storm and burn, add more from the SB.
4 Phyrexian Revoker - vs storm, elves, vehicles, death and taxes
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Duress
2 Lead the Stampede
4 Reflecting Pool
4 Ancient Ziggurat
4 City of Brass
4 Mana Confluence
2 Plains
1 Swamp
1 Forest
I think that this is the cheapest thing I could think of.

Sorry for the tight budget, but being a student and having your veteran mtg friends force you to play legacy is a good excuse I guess. Nonetheless, thank you very much for helping me out on this one.

Seems like your meta doesn't play Force of Will so I would suggest some fast combo deck. For example storm.
Rituals 18
4 Rite of Flame
3 Seething Song
4 Dark Ritual
3Cabal Ritual
4 Helm of Awakening
Cantrips 16
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Manamorphose
4 Chromatic Sphere
4 Chromatic Star
Payoff 8
4 Dark Petition
1 Ad Nauseam
1 Tendrils of Agony
1 Past in Flames
1 Empty the Warrens
Lands 18
4 Blackcleave Cliffs
4 Gemstone Mine
6 Swamp
4 Mountain
Side 15
4 Engineered Plague
4 Mindbreak Trap
4 Chancellor of the Annex
3 Cabal Therapy
This might fit your budget, check it out from MCM. It's combo rather than control or midrange. Making midrange or control deck takes little more time to brew and I might post it later. One more question; are storm decks mainly ANT or TES in your meta?

Whoops, didn't notice some cards were so expensive, replace Blackcleave Cliffs with Basics and Chancellor of the Annex with Duress.

Spell Queller would be a good fit in this deck, maybe Niblis of Frost, he's good at changing the tempo.
Archangel Avacyn Flip would be a nice one of. She can come in handy.

@Colgate
Only TES.
Thanks for the brew, but I don't think I'll play combo, mostly because one of my friends is playing almost the exact same deck you posted. lol
@hardhitta71194
Spell Queller is nice, but I think Mausoleum Wanderer and Counterspell will do the job.
I would put Niblis of Frost in the sideboard, because the majority of decks I'll be playing against are not using a lot of creature spells.
Archangel Avacyn Flip <-- definitely worth it, might put it in in exchange for Selfless Spirit

Turn 1 combo deck that your friends do not have: Belcher!
Creatures (12)
4 Tinder Wall
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Simian Spirit Guide
Spells (35)
4 Gitaxian Probe
4 Rite of Flame
4 Burning Wish
4 Desperate Ritual
4 Land Grant
4 Manamorphose
4 Pyretic Ritual
4 Seething Song
3 Empty the Warrens
Artifacts (12)
4 Chrome Mox
4 Lotus Petal
4 Goblin Charbelcher
Lands (1)
Chrome mox can easily be replaced by almost anything, since they are a bit expensive. I think that Street Wraith is the cheapest replacement.

If you are new to Legacy, I highly suggest you to play combo deck or some noninteractive aggro, because then you need to just learn to play your deck. If you want to play interactive deck, you need to also know what your opponent is doing and in Legacy "What is my opponent trying to do?" is quite open question. If you know what you are going to go against it's a lot easier, but you still need to learn more decks than by playing noninteractive decks. Familirize with format before playing interactive decks to know how to interact. Let's try to play some control then:
Main
4 Drifting Meadow
4 Slippery Karst
4 Blasted Landscape
6 Forest
6 Plains
3 Swords to Plowshares
3 Gilded Light
3 Blade Splicer
4 Fluctuator
4 Day of Judgment
2 Eternal Dragon
4 Wall of Roots
4 Astral Slide
3 Wall of Blossoms
2 Acidic Slime
4 Street Wraith
Side
4 Nature's Claim 4 Relic of Progenitus 4 Pithing Needle 3 Ratchet Bomb
This is quite rough version and it's quite undercosted for your budget. You can improve it with Living Wish and wishboard, use Containment Priest for shenanigans and with more. You could add somewhere Lone Missionary somewhere or Reclamation Sage. Perhaps you want to splash a colour, anyway it's easily customizable for your own preferences. Your meta seems to be light on Abrupt Decay, so Astral Slide felt natural way to go.
