I saw that deck tech! Yea, it looks super fun. I just proxied up Titan Bloom like ten minutes ago, might as well proxy this up as well while i'm at it.

I have been known to play a Griselbrand in my sideboard in Legacy and Modern just to flash people when I am sideboarding.
Still have no real empirical data on it... but I do notice a lot less Show and Tells games two and three.

Fun decks are always interesting in legacy that's why decks like Food Chain exist. Also glad to see a discussion thread for legacy.

How is legacy lands doing?
Have my own list (not a shameless deck plug at all). I just wanna know how its doing meta wise since I don't really pay attention to the meta. Also any help there would be awesome.
On the topic of Food Chain. I don't understand how that combo is competitively viable.

Food Chain basically runs half of Shardless Bug's list but with a combo.
And lands seems to be pretty popular these days. I've seen a lot of it around. A lot of different variants of it too.

Food chain lists I've seen play a midrange game and plop the combo when it's convenient. Using food chain to ramp them off in needed creatures. Its a fun deck to play against.

I like shard less delver. Also does Trygon Predator see limited play in legacy on SB more specifically?

OtakulordAndrew That's only if they are playing OmniTell. If they are playing Sneak and Show, then they don't get the extra turn as they aren't actually casting him.

@klone13 eternal garden still sees play as a strong deck but it requires a strong pilot to play it at it's best. In terms of food chain it depends on the variant both bant and bug see play, as a combo deck it is on the slower side and can lose to other combo decks such as show and tell but it does alright against aggro and control decks where it can either get off its combo or go with the back up plan of beating the opponent to the face with 4 Misthollow Griffin. In terms of the combo you have quite a few ways to tutor for your combo with a few transmute card in black to fetch food chain while if your in white you have access to cards like Enlightened Tutor, Manipulate Fate is great for getting your griffins while you also have access to the usual blue cantrips in brainstorm and ponder while m15's Genesis Hydra recently made finding Tidespout Tyrant or emrakul much easier once you have the rest of your combo or if you happen to be missing food chain or your griffin you could try to dig for them with the hydra as well. Other than that the deck tends to run some decent counter spells such as a playset of force which synergises well with your misthollow griffin a few daze if in black abrupt decay and if in white Meddling Mage etc. to hold off untill the deck combos or it swings enough times with its 4cmc 3/3 fliers.

On that note, the format is healthy. Anyone have thoughts on the competiveness of mana Dredge, Affinty, RDW/Burn, and 12 Post in the format?

I love RDW in legacy whereas I absolutely hate it in modern. I really love Pyrostatic Pillar and Pyroblast/Red Elemental Blast. Also aeonstoremyliver, I love the addition of Barbarian Ring in your deck.

Legacy lands has done very well considering the few players that play it. There are like 7 pro players that play it and all do consistently well

Is Bug Nic Fit a 'thing'? I like Notion Thief in vintage but I am not sure whether it has a definitive place in legacy.

I feel like dredge, mana or otherwise, does well or not (assuming a field of competent players) really depends on if the other players decided to respect it and bring sideboard for it. If they did, or if there's a lot of DRS in the room, then I don't think it does well. If they don't, it can easily win a competition as most people find it very hard to interact and interrupt it.
I've never played against Affinity or 12 Post in legacy, but I feel like Burn is kinda slow for a combo deck.

I've seen it on scg streams. It's not spectacular, but it's a legacy deck that can run grave titan and hardcast it so I love it.

@klone13 10 basic lands should be enough for nic fit as some lists run around 7 or 8 basics.

i dont think it could. theres a lot of removal in legacy: Lightning Bolt, Swords to Plowshares, Abrupt Decay and less so in vintage. also most of the stuff that trygon hits you would rather just decay. There are exceptions like Omniscience and Batterskull that you cant hit but the problem with those scenarios is 1) 9.5 times out of 10 once omniscience hits the field they cantrip, cantrip, play grizzy, pay 7 draw 7, cantrip cantrip, emrakul, go to extra turn kill u and 2) the decks that play batterskull, (stoneblade, deathblade, D&T, etc.) always play lots of removal as they are essentially midrange

the name "tin-fins" comes from the movie tin-fins which is about a metal shark. during the movie there is a fake commercial for a restaurant called grizzelbees. since tin fins is a griselbrand combo deck they call it tin fins.

@klone13 Thanks! Barbarian Ring is often a finishing blow followed by Fireblast. RDW/Burn has a potential T3 win, consistent T4. It's bad matchups are TES/ANT and Show and Tell variants, which it sideboards heavily against ala Pyrostatic Pillar (as well as Eidolon of the Great Revel main) and GY hate, and Ashen Rider for S&T.
12 Post is a blast to play, as it has tons of answers mainboard. It's weak to Wasteland effects, but compensates main and side. Weak against early combo decks, unless the Simic variant packs FoW.
Lands decks intrigue me, and have done well pending the meta. It's a groovy deck I wouldn't mind trying a variant of. Obviously, Blood Moon wrecks it's day, however it's a seldom seen SB card. What are it's good/bad matchups?
I concur that Dredge is a true boogeyman, preying on the unprepared meta. Same could be said of Nic Fit.
Speaking of, I'd love to see the Marlboro Man in further competive action. I like that lists run more basics, making it less of a barrier of entry, and also resilient to Wasteland.
Notion Thief is fun, but may be too slow in Legacy due to the lack of acceleration that Vintage has. W/O the P9 and so forth, it's unjustifiable as a 4 drop, whereas Jace fills the slot better in the format.
No Hooting Mandrills or Tin Fins yet for me, but I look forward to the challenge.
Anyone ever play against Legacy Affinity? Cereally, Rice Crispies, it's nuts. In the hands of a good pilot, it's a badass deck.

Subbing for good reads.
I somewhat recently setup an mtgo account and have been working on building up my Legacy cards. Haven't played a single match with them yet though, been busy as hell. Plus I can't 100% decide on the route I want to take. Part of me really wants to run Mentor but I also kinda don't know how well it'll work out. I dunno.

Natural Order requires you to not have it thoughtseized out of your hand, as well as to have lands and a board state. None of which is easy to accomplish against sultai delver
