so... i had a laugh the other day, explaining how decks in legacy work... they left they know nothing about magic... especially after being told about "mono red mill... a.k.a painter" which they didn't understand at all lol

I get that. I don't hardly understand jack about the format. I find it fun to view games, but I certainly don't pretend to understand all the cards or interactions. I haven't really invested much time into learning the format. And by "much" I mean "any."

they were also confused by the words "mono green burn"

well there definitely isn't a mono green burn deck in legacy so I'm confused too.

Mono green burn isn't exactly an actual thing in competitive Legacy. It's really more of a casual deck that is Legacy legal.

I would've assumed that you would've gotten more raised eyebrows from explaining Dredge.

I was playing dredge, 50 gbp to anyone who could win best of 3 (I am the only legacy player)

@tyforthevenom

What concerned me most about that thread you linked discussing mono-green burn is that no one acknowledged the fact that he said "I picked Borrowing the East Wind over Hurricane or Squall Line so that I could kill off any critter, cause there aren't many people who play horsemanship."

Also, mono-green burn is not really a playable deck in any sense. Green only got most of its "burn" creatures in one set, Planar Chaos, and they're just plain inefficient.

I enjoy showing belcher to players. It confuses everyone at first.

They followed oops through gp nj

to sum up their knowledge of legacy:

watching the first match of oops:

Me: Well played

them: WHAT? HOW DID THEY WIN?

You see I'm a fan of janky decks and combo decks So me explaining four horseman or Belcher would just leave then wondering WTF. I would probably be willing to make the same bet with someone on not being able to beat Belcher best of 3 if I could guarantee that none of them had Force of Will.

@ Gidgetimer 4 Horsemen is technically not even legal.

@fluffybunnypants- The deck is not illegal, trying to win with it constitutes slow play if you attempt to loop it. You'll hardly ever win with it, but the deck is legal even if winning with it isn't.

That is why it is the choice of people who hate judges in the legacy flowchart. If you notice also both of the decks I mentioned are in the "I hate people" section of why you want to play legacy I'm not sure what this says about me.

Best thing ever = Why do you want to play Legacy? > I hate people > Who do you hate? > Myself > Doomsday

@ Gidgetimer I did say "technically."

You enjoy playing broken decks in legacy? Allow me to get out my D&T to prevent you from playing Magic.
