I started this to answer one question: What is the ultimate budget Legacy deck? Everywhere I go, people keep bringing Burn and manaless dredge. I need help to find a deck with the following criteria:
Not a glass cannon deck (Food Chain is exempt)
Not burn or delver
within a reasonable price range.Thanks

Okay. D&T was actually my first choice, but the lands are quite expensive. I just might choose Goblins...

Well most decks are going to have some expensive cards. The ones that don't are either super bad, or you've already eliminated them based on your criteria. Expensive cards are largely part of the package with legacy, so get used to it.

I know, but it is my favorite format, and since Eternal Masters is coming out, I was thinking to buy into legacy.

You have to decide if you want to drop money or if you want to play a worse deck honestly. Sure it's more money but the cards don't change value drastically.

Pox was my first legacy deck. You can make it pretty cheap, and a bunch of reprints are common and uncommon in EMA.
You can also do LEDless Dredge. Less explosive, still awesome.

Pox was actually a viable option for me, it was just the manabase and Liliana of the Veils that took me offguard :p

Enchantress is usually on the cheaper side, not sure how glass cannon you consider Casca-balance, and if you have modern affinity that can be ported into legacy affinity for pretty cheap. The key question for getting into any format on a budget is what do you already have/can trade for. If you alreary have pieces of a legacy deck, then congrats, thats what you can build best on a budget (usually). If you are starting fresh than you are going to have to shell out some more money, but have more freedom of deck choice. Honestly if you are building from scratch just pick a deck you would really like to play and make a cheap budget version, slowly accumulating the necessary pieces.

There are a bunch of fairly inexpensive but effective legacy decks. Some mavericks builds (as they run no blue), mono blue omni show (which has gotten less good wo dig), d&t and some storm builds seem like a place to start. Dome niche decks are also slightly less expensive, like tezzerator or MUD. On the other hand, tez runs four duals, three of which are x/u, and MUD runs City of Traitors, Metalworker and Grim Monolith. Legacy has a fairly steep buy-in, in general.

Mono black pox folds to most other decks, which puts you on bg pox or some other variant if you want to win, which means, for gb, 4 Bayou, Verdant Catacombs and some number of Dark Depths lilis and, if you're doing things correctly, The Abyss, Chains of Mephistopheles, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and Sylvan Library. A solid pox build actually isn't that cheap. This is mine, which is junk colored: Legacy Competitive Junk Loam Pox.

Goblins and D&T are both reasonably priced and fit those criteria. Goblins kind of sucks, but it's fine if you're just getting into the format and don't want to spend a lot of money.
