let me startb off by saying that i do get why Karakas is so good, the ability to bounce your opponents legendary creatures or even your own for repeated ETB effects is nuts! but i have noticed that it sees play in decks that only run 2 legendary creatures, especially vendillion clique. is the reasoning behind that to protect yourself from your opponents legendary creatures or is it really worth a land slot just in case you have it out with your very few legendary creatures?
that would be fun haha im new to legacy so im slowly figuring all this out,so far im really enjoying the complexity of it!

It's solid defensively and offensively. In Death/Taxes, it can be used to recur the ability of Mangara of Corondor. It allows you to protect various legends in an uncounterable way in a format full of Force of Will and efficient removal. Finally, it keeps your opponent's legends from doing very much, and with the popularity of Show and Tell, Sneak Attack, and Oath of Druids, it can be an uncounterable, one mana answer to Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, Griselbrand, and more.

Having it be your play when your opponent Show and Tell's an Emrakul is huge too.

essentially there are decks that use it to protect their creatures like death and taxes (see thalia) or miracles (see venser, vendilion clique)
but the main reason is that there are 3 combo decks (see: tin fins, show and tell, and reanimator)
these will sneak legendary creatures into play. emrakul can't be countered nor targeted by spells so you need to either have a way to answer with a permanent's ability (see ashen rider, oblivion ring) or land (see karakas).
karakas lets you respond at instant speed which makes it so powerful against sneak attack and tinfins decks (see shallow grave)...as your other answers are on your turn at sorcery speed and only really useful vs reanimator (see reanimate / exume) or show and tell.

also the best way to use it with your own creatures such as Vendilion Clique or venser, is in a control sell like miracles, where theyll get to resolve, or decks like death and taxes that can cheat them back into play with aethervial
playing a deck designed to bounce creatures with karakas means you need karakas, so you play 3-4 and then end up with 7 card opening hands with 2 karakas and 5 spells lol

Yeah, you get to bounce your own legends, but also you get to bounce that nice Griselbrand or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite that your opponent just Animate Deaded
