Krosan Grip vs. Naturalize?

Oh hey Emrakul, how are you doi-;a;lakAQ;LKA

This deck has been having problems with Chalice of the Void . Once Chalice of the Void is out, it pretty much kills the deck. It also has problems vs. MUD. For a while, I had Phyrexian Revoker but that didn't solve the problem with Chalice of the Void .

I then realized that Krosan Grip and Naturalize work amazing against MUD and it also helps against Chalice of the Void . However, the problem was: Which one?

Or would I keep Phyrexian Revoker instead?

Which card is better in legacy in general?

To begin with, Phyrexian Revoker would not stop Chalice of the Void because the chalice uses a triggered ability, and not an activated ability.

Secondly, the question about which to use depends on what you expect to face. If you can't afford for it to be countered, use Krosan Grip . If you cannot spend that extra one mana and don't expect counters, use Naturalize .

I would expect Krosan Grip to be more important for you in legacy because Force of Will is a thing.

I think that indicates that I do know that it doesn't stop Chalice of the Void

ATM though, I'm kind of leaning towards Naturalize because if I'm destroying artifacts (and sometimes enchantments), I'm not really going to expect to see any counters, but I guess if I used Naturalize people could still use the artifact or enchantment's ability in response to Naturalize .

That's kind of why I favor Krosan Grip . It stops shenanigans. Because sometimes even if you destroy the artifact, they can just stack on top of the stack laughing at your destruction spell.

Also, sorry about my reading error.

Also, Sneak Attack decks almost always use Force of Will and other such "free" counterspells so that they can protect the enchantment.

I have Pithing Needle for Sneak Attack (Yes I know Pithing Needle can just as easily be countered, but there's always a point where you run out of counterspells within reach. One less counterspell means a better chance to actually cast the game-winning card.).

Right now, I'm testing Krosan Grip though to see how it goes. The one extra mana can't really hurt THAT much.

I've only played one game with Krosan Grip and although this might only be a small part, I had trouble casting Krosan Grip because of Lodestone Golem and Wasteland (Then again, things would probably have been different if I had Pithing Needle )

I think if you're even considering running Naturalize , you should run Nature's Claim instead. 4 life is nothing when you're powering out eldrazi. That being said, Krosan Grip is probably better for you. No need to worry about FoW. It's a meta call.

Hmm, posted before reading your deck. Nvm about what I said. Krosan Grip all the way.

The reason Nature's Claim is a bad idea is because the main reason why I'm considering siding these in the first place is to deal with Chalice of the Void .

Yeah, I realized after I had read your deck description. But with post, you should have no problems reaching 3 mana as you can just play lands the old fashioned way.

I counsel you if you can play the 'Ancient Grudge instead of Naturalize and Krosan Grip for me is a bit too costly. The Ancient Grudge is a removal two in one cheap very strong.
