Legacy Noob - How Good is Jund Right Now?

So Legacy has caught my eye. I'm already playing Jund in modern, so I want to play it in Legacy since the cards are similar. Plus Jund is tons of Jund. It's going to be a while before I get the deck fully complete since I need the mana base and maybe a Chains of Mephistopheles.
Anyways, I know nothing about Legacy except it is a pretty diverse format, but how good is Jund at the moment? Is it a viable deck to play or should I not bother?
Thanks.

Depends on what you want exactly to do.
Unless you are trying to be a hyper competative punishing jund is a fine choice of a deck. It destroys a lot of fair decks. Its just not a great deck in the format where having force of will is so important

Jund is very good if there's low combo in your meta. Pfire wrecks delver lists and is annoying for miracles. Its a really solid list and puts up good results. JWiley129 the deck your thinking of is nic fit. Some Jund variants run shapeshift for a surprise combo kill.

I think that's the direction I'm going with the deck - Punishing Jund. I might leave that package out and just mess around with it a little bit.
EDIT: Is Chains necessary or is it just meta dependent? I think my meta has a lot of Stoneblade since that's what everyone seems to be building.

Jund is always in the middle. Basically, if there is a lot of combo or unfair decks you have trouble but legacy rewards experience so if you have played jund for a while you can still succeed

It's not. At all really. You beat bad Maverick players and, on occasion, a bad Delver player.

Gspot - No, it was a dedicated Jund Scapeshift deck. I'm not kidding. But NicFit is another Jund archetype that's ok. But the downside of not playing Brainstorm is really high.

I would like to play Shardless BUG but FoW's and the blue duals are way out of my reach at the moment.

Well, poop. I'm going to shoot for Jund so I can play Legacy and not have to break the bank completely. But Shardless would be nice.

As the latter peeps have said, combo decks are a pain as you lack FoW. Discard helps, but TES/ANT packs their own discard package. I concur that if there are a lot of fair decks in your meta, Jund awards good experience. Ask gnarlicide, dude is the Jund player!

You raaaaaaang?
Okay, as far as legacy goes, yes, non blue decks are at a tremendous disadvantage.
*BUT, out of all the non blue decks, Jund really makes people think twice about that sentiment.
Legacy also rewards people for knowing their deck and the meta.
Chains is not necessary, but its is amazing against decks that use Top.
Now as far as playing against blue decks with a deck like mine, Cease to Exist, I have not really had much of a problem. the only time I really felt the pain of not playing blue is when TC was not banned.
Recently, I took my deck out and dusted it off and took it for a ride. It was a local 8 man, and I lost in the finals to elfball, which I had beaten in round 1. I misplayed in game 2, and it cost me the game. In game 3, I got really REALLY unlucky, and was forced to pay the life to Sylvan Library so I can get something other than lands. then I got overrun.
Either way, I still think that Legacy Jund is pretty great. And even in an unfavorable meta, I can say that as long as I can play tight, then I don't have too much to worry about. Some games you can cascade into some unfair shit. Some games you cascade into Hymn to Tourach when you really don't want one. shit happens.
I say that if you are going to play Jund in Legacy, then stick with it. Shardless BUG has shittier threats, other than TNN.

The moral if Legacy is "If it isn't Blue, it's bad." I did see a sweet Jund Scapeshift deck on coverage at last year's Eternal Weekend, but that doesn't make the strategy good.
