Most consistent deck in legacy?
Legacy forum

I've been playing magic for YEARS, and I decided that it was about time I got into legacy.
With that said, I've decided I don't want to play miracles, as luck is too much a deciding factor in winning/losing, and I don't really want to play show and tell (though I might test it out). What deck do you guys think has the best consistency combined with a very high win ratio?
Thanks, everybody!
BUg control? Punishing Jund? Stoneblade variant? Legacy is very bvalanced right and I would say miracles fits the best in terms of consistency and win %.

Manaless dredge is the most consistent deck.
Consistently bad!
*Buh dmm, tss!
But seriously, Burn is super consistent, Elves is up there, reanimator is up there.

Thanks, again.
ThisIsBullshit: I was reffering to show and tell as an archetype, not a card, but I'm rethinking my decision right now... I'll look into Omnitell :)

As you can see by the diversity of the answers, there really is no wrong answer (I am more right than anyone else in this thread though).

Interesting that you say luck is too much of a factor in Miracles but it's basically #1 in consistency in Legacy. The deck's strength is in its inevitability and its ability to draw the game out. It doesn't need to kill on turn 3 to be good.

I was under the impression miracles relied a lot on the top three cards of their deck. Am I wrong?
(Not criticizing, genuinely curious...)

Generally speaking, Miracles is consistent because of its ability to find cards. Sensei's Top will only let you reorder the top 3, but using Top/Brainstorm/JTMS alongside shuffle effects like Ponder/Fetchlands/Stoneforge Mystic (for the lists that run the Stoneforge package) allow you to sift your deck to an extreme degree. Coupled with Dig Through Time, the deck has an incredible ability to find cards.

The deck doesn't really rely on them - it just uses them, albeit they are very important. There are important spells in the deck other than just Top and Counterbalance.

rorofat It all comes down to this analogy: You have to roll a 7 on two six-sided dice, but the dice are loaded and you get unlimited rolls.
With 4-of's of Jace, the Mind Sculptor as well as Ponder and Brainstorm and Sensei's Divining Top all with Fetches, they can manipulate the top of their library an incredible amount. Sure, there may be a tiny luck factor, but the likelyhood of getting a 4-of on top in a heavily manipulated library is surely near 100%.

I've been playing miracles for around 6/7 months now and it is THE most consistent deck provided you play the 4 ponder/European version(having played the legends version and a list similar to Reid duke you SHOULD play the ponder list). The pitfall of the deck is how punishing displays are, finding the right cards is a breeze with how well it can dig.

A lot of decks are consistent, if built and piloted correctly. Red Deck Wins/Burn has a guaranteed turn 3-4 clock. 12 Post can hard cast Emrakul on turn 4, Dredge can win with a swarm of 3/3 Zombies on turn 2-3...
It all comes down to budget and play style. Proxy first, though, as the format ain't cheap.

Miracles is usually way too good. I have a fair matchup vs it, but most do not. It's a royal Pain in the Ass for many people. Death and Taxes is a pretty good deck, too, in most Metas.

I also like the Esper splash deathblade decks, actually. It can be brutal. One of my friends is experimenting without the Deathrite, and instead is adding the alternate win con of Monastery Mentor / Sensei's Divining Top control.

miracles is by far the most consistent. its also the most boring both for you and your opponent, and probably one of the (many) reasons why legacy is dying

arcdevil Having played miracles for a while now, it's a blast. Also legacy isn't "dying" by any means.

Delver - most forms of it, is pretty consistent. Honestly, with all the top deck manipulation available in blue, almost any blue decks are consistent.
You want consistent with lots of wins? Omnitell is super consistent, super powerful, and wins a lot.
What do you mean by you don't want to play Show and Tell? Don't want to play Sneak and Show, don't want to play with the card, or what?
