Most Expensive Legacy Card?

Whats the most expensive legacy legal card? I'm excluding black border dual lands and foils, cause you can run the White bordered ones and non foils just as effectively. Is it The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale?

Only one printing in a low print-run set. Unique effect that is highly desirable (Lands deck can conceivably play 4). I was surprised to find alpha Underground Sea to be in the 5 digits realm. All the more reason to invent the time machine.

Yes, it is, at least on TCG.

Tabernacle is up there, Candelabra of Tawnos is a mother pricy card. Then once you get into the beta duals and all that you start asking for a pretty penny too. Judge promo Force of Will and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite are expensive too. If you're looking for most expensive at the base price though it's probably tabernacle/candelabra depending on what deck has done well lately. It's usually Tabernacle though, high tide is the only deck that plays candelabra and the is very little demand for that.

Sorry to double post, but I completely forgot about Chains of Mephistopheles. I'm ashamed of myself because it's one monstrously pricey card that I actually want for legacy.

If I recall correctly, The Abyss is up there, too.

Fraternal Exaltation and Splendid Genesis are both pricey and legacy legal, if not very playable.

Fraternal Exaltation and Splendid Genesis are the opposite of legacy legal cards. Basically, they occured when set developers had kids. They are as legal as 1996 World Champion.

Considering that UC is in Revised, it isn't chains either. It's The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, which I had to go out and liquidate a bunch of bulk and still shell out some money for an ITALIAN one. Any English Language ones available usually run upwards of $750 in fair condition.

I'm not really sure why all my really good GBx cards are so much fn money. LOL. You've got the list there, Chains, Abyss, Tabernacle. Also Nether Void. Can't forget that.

Imperial Recruiter and Grim Tutor (on paper) also come to mind.

It's so sad, too. All the cards we're talking about are all only run under very specific conditions, and usually only by niche decks, like Painter, Turbo Pox, Lands (which USED to be niche, anyway), and etc.

Its... Shivan Dragon... No Seriously, and Alpha Shivan Dragon goes for $1,299.95 on TCG Player, more than any other card in legacy except Beta Volcanic Islands, Underground Seas, and Tundras

Shivan Dragon is under a dollar if going by the criteria of this thread. Edition withstanding, it's tabernacle.
