Wow! Maverick for the win! Also Elves! are represented, Burn took 3rd, and / 12 Post came in 16th. Good to see that anything is possible still in Legacy!

Yep, I hope the format grows some in popularity. There aren't many players in my area due to the cost barrier of entry. If peeps realized that dropping 1-2K on a deck that doesn't rotate and will only increase in value, unlike most Standard cards, we could have more players...

Punishing Maverick is great deck in the current format. It really kind of bends Delver over. Shoutout to Shardless BUG and old school RUG Delver that didn't run Treasure Cruise.

Also a shout out to that sick BUG Delver list.

aeonstoremyliver, the issue is getting those 1-2K, haha.
Yes, yes, gradual buildup and all that, but there are still financial emergencies and all that to prepare for to. :/

Goldghost if you trade a lot and just focus on one deck you'll be supposed how quickly and cheaply you can build a deck. I built nic nig over four months for 200 dollars and the deck is valued at 2k

I am feeling really bad now that after 2 months I still haven't completed my $800 Modern UWR control deck :( You made me feel worse @julianjmoss :P

It took me about 16 months to complete my 12 Post and Red Deck Wins. I had many of the cards, but the nail in the coffin was acquiring the Chain Lightnings, Dark Depths, Karakas, and Savannah. I was fortunate to trade for the CL and DD, but got a great 'Make an Offer' via EBay on the other lands, spending roughly $150 for both.
It's something you can build over time, or at tax time lol.

Awesomeguy don't trade for other stuff and be aggressive about finding people who are trading it's that easy

Glad to see James Nguyen make top 8. He won the last SCG Legacy Open in the area not too long ago. He plays around in my shop, although none of us knew he played Legacy until he got first at the Legacy Open not too long ago.
I'll be sure to congratulate him on his achievement the next time I see him. It's pretty cool that he's still rocking Shardless BUG after it's fallen out of favor with other Legacy players.
Also glad to see Jackson Rodelander place 3rd. in the Modern event and Justin Perkins place 14th. (with that pesky Goblin deck, nonetheless).
