What will wizards do about legacy?
Legacy forum

As we all know eternal masters is coming upon us... does this mean that wizards has finally decided to support legacy as a format in MTG? Do you think the prices of staples will increases or will wizards ban the reserved list all together? I think that would be interesting personally killing a few decks all together though. Will SCG ever support Legacy tournmaments again?
First, reprint all the dual lands. Then, ban the reserve list in constructed play. That will solve all the problems!

@kyuuri117: This is a different line of question. He's not asking if the reserve list should exist. He wants to know if the cards on the reserve list will be banned in legacy (which I have heard rumors of). And if wizards/SGC will support the format.
Wizards is trying to make money. Since Hasbro owns it, they have to do what they can to generate revenue. IF supporting legacy brings in revenue, then that is something they will consider. If banning ABUR duals will make more people buy things like Eternal masters, then they might consider it.
I think that the reason they are doing eternal masters is so they can make money from the current legacy players, while also making money from EDH players, who don't all buy boosters as most cards in normal boosters have limited if any appeal to EDH players.
If wizards starts supporting Legacy, then SCG will start hosting tournaments for them as the player base for it will increase.

I'll briefly state a well known fact regarding the RL and move on: It will never go away.
That being said, RL cards like the ABUR duals, City of Traitors, and so forth will continue to maintain and rise in value. I anticipate that duals will spike in value with the release of Eternal Masters generating interest in the format. Other cards like the Tempest printing of Wasteland (and special foil prints) will more than likely also rise in value. Note the Future Sight Tarmogoyf for reference. It's two reprints as mythic did little to decrease the FUT print value and the reprints are still around $150 or so.
As far as supporting Legacy, WoTC cares nothing about the secondary market, only pack/box sales. Ergo the support of competitive Legacy lies within SCG, Channel Fireball, and so forth. They make money off of singles.
On another note I'm highly interested in cracking some old Legacy cards.

I have a feeling that a lot of people will be disappointed when the set hits. It's not Legacy Masters, it's eternal. ie: EDH, Vintage, Legacy, Cube ect.
The expected storm of new players will not show up, staples will rise in price then go down again. At the end of the day the RL cards will retain a lit of their price but the basic stuff will not.

Not trying to be rude, but there have been dozens of discussions about this exact topic on this website alone in the past month. Thousands if you count reddit, mtg salvation, and other mtg forums. Seriously, go google it, we don't need another shit fest about people arguing over the reserved list.
