How many cards in is the rare if you open from the back of the pack?

Going to try the sealed method of looking at my rares very last so I want to put them aside face down when I open my packs.
Is it always a token / land then the rare in every pack? (Going from the back of course)
Oh that's right--I forgot foils replace a common, not the token card. (Never really got that.) So if you have a foil, you may accidentally look at your rare. There's no real way to tell without turning over the cards, I think.
Out of curiosity, why is this a sealed strat? So you don't get blindsided by good rares into running a shallow color? I think either way you should take rares into a balanced consideration.

Yeah just trying something new since I tend to get tunnel vision when I pull a splashy rare. I want to see if I build a better deck by choosing my colors based on my C's/U's and then adding applicable rares.

I would suggest just looking at the cards normally, but thumbing the cards out upside down so you can see the set symbol and rarity before the details of each card. This way you can set aside any foils, etc, you might open. When you see the rare symbol, just turn the card face down before you get a complete view of it.

Yep, I believe that's right. Two cards in is the rare. Token/foil, basic land, rare. :)
