Multi-Set Drafting
Limited forum

Me and some friends wanted to do a draft as normal except with a twist: you would only use packs from sets that worked together but were not meant to be drafted together. Also, we wanted to keep it under $12 for the three packs. For example rtr-ktk-frf because they were all multicolor sets and the fetchlands worked with the shocklands (it would probably not happen but who knows?) What do you guys think would be some good sets to use together?

Well, you learn something new every day. I have done chaos drafts before with conspiracy, and two other sets I can't remember and they are a blast. I was also thinking of making a draft where everyone just brings 3 booster packs and then we do a draft. Thoughts?

You can do different sets, but please don't just pull random packs. People need the ability to predict what they'll see in future packs while drafting.

chaos drafting is the best. At my LGS every other tuesday is chaos. Any three packs in the store, 4 bucks a pack (we have RtR, GTC, DGM, Conspiracy, M15, Theros Block, and Khans block). If you bring your own pack you can use it and only pay $1.
It's hilarious to be that guy who uses 3 conspiracy. You get to use cards like swords to plowshares. You get to draft face up. It's great.
One caveat: Foreign language boosters can be a pain when people don't know what each card is

Serendipitous_Hummingbird, that is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of. I wish my lgs did chaos drafts...

Just FYI this is called a "Chaos Draft". I'm keep trying to get my LGS to fire one but there always seems to be a stick in the mud who doesn't want to.
I've thought THS and KTK would be fun because Heroic and Prowess play very similar in Limited. I tend to draft W/U, R/U, and R/W often and those sets would probably treat me well.
