Card Art that Exemplifies Color/Guild/etc.

Lore forum

As the title says, what common/uncommon do you think best represents its respective color/guild/shard/etc. with its art? Please keep this discussion focused on common or uncommon cards. I will be using one (or more) of these to make 3D abacus-style life counters.

I think this is an appropriate forum posting. Apologies Epoch if you think it's more appropriate elsewhere.

any red firebreathing dragon. Lightning Bolt (that might be a bit tricky in 3D though). any of the charms (Selesnya Charm ).

You could also go with the guild gates as they're super cheap.

Yeahhh Lightning Bolt would definitely be too tricky for me with my limited experience. I had trouble with the glowing yellow light from an M14 Cancel ahah.

I may do the charms, but that's really boring (with respect to creativity of selecting a card art to represent a guild). Thanks miracleHat!

You could also do the signets or cluestones. Again, super cheap.

True as well, kmcree. But again, they're kind of boring to choose as something for a guild. I'm not sure if I like how they'd "pop" either :S Are there any that you think would look really good in 3D? Thank you for the suggestions :)

Blast of Genius would be cool. Electrolyze (but they are expensive, wouldn't you need like 20?), Izzet Staticaster shows the cackling side of the izzet. Man, the izzet have a lot!

I actually think most of the cluestones would look pretty cool, if you're able to cut around the guild symbols and make those 3D it would be interesting. Some of them are a little hard though.

Looking at them again, I think some of the cluestones are pretty cool. The trickiest part of the Boros Cluestone and Azorius Cluestone would be the studs/circles that aren't attached to anything. I'm primarily a Dimir player so I may start with the Dimir Cluestone .

I've always thought that Hellhole Flailer and Showstopper really show the nature of Rakdos.

Cartel Aristocrat seems like it would be a pretty awesome representation of Orzhov

Do you have a picture of what this would look like as a finished product? I'm quite interested.

May 22, 2014 7:14 p.m.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm looking for something like Cartel Aristocrat is to Orzhov. Something symbolic but not obvious.

Orcinbob, I'll try to post picture of my first attempt. It's not great, but I don't think it's bad either. You could search for Magic Abacus on Google, I used an M10 (same as M14) Cancel for my first.
