I can't help but think of Saskia as a love-child of William Wallace and Samus Aran (of Metroid fame). Also, judging by the mentioned tradition, Saskia is NOT from Dominaria. Valla or Kaldheim seem more likely.

Yay! New LGBT Commander! If only Kynaios and Tiro were separate, Wizards could have given both of them "Partner" to partner them up. Willian Murai's art for them is great as always. I also love Tana's artwork and little bio. It makes me wonder what plane she is from... the story points to Innistrad for me but the art and her outfit make me think of Gruulish garb.

Innistrad dosen't have elves, so she can't be from there.

Speaking as a bisexual man, I'd rather not see "they're gay!" Be a defining part of their character. Being gay is normal so let's treat it like it's normal, yeah? Commence flaming on my wall though. I'd rather not take up thread space.

There are a large number of generals from Theros and Tarkir in this set, but only one each from New Phyrexia and Dominaria, thus far, which disappoints me greatly, and none from either Kamigawa or Ulgrotha, which I also dislike.

I expected that Breya was originally from Esper, but it does not make sense for her to have been influenced by Jund, since there is nothing remotely Jund-like about her artwork or abilities. It would make much more sense for her to be from Esper and influenced by Grixis, since she has the colors of those two shards and her abilities seem to be more aligned with Grixis than with Jund, in my mind.

I noticed that Sakia and Tana are the only two generals whose home planes have not been revealed; does anyone have any theories regarding their planes of origin?

I also am very disappointed that there are no legendary demons or dragons in this set, since there was a legendary angel, and those are my three favorite creature types in this game.

Homura_Akemi, Tana would fit perfectly as a member of the Gruul guild, but most of the wilderness on Ravnica has been consumed by the city, and I see no reason why WotC would keep her home plane secret if it was one that has already been featured in two blocks.

Phaetion, I like that idea, especially since the people in the background of Saskia's artwork resemble vikings. Perhaps Tana is also from one of those planes, since elves originated in Norse mythology (although their modern depictions are heavily influenced by Tolkien)?

I was so disappointed in KTK when Ankle Shanker wasn't legendary. So glad they corrected this, kinda.

Is she the first character to go from a non-legendary card to a legendary one?

Named_Tawyny none come to mind off the top of my head, but technically it is a different character because of timeline shenanagins.

It's the same character, just a different timeline.

But yes, two sides of the same coin for looking at it.

Named_Tawyny: Not sure if she's the first. The only other legendary I can think of is Lord of the Undead turning into Dralnu, Lich Lord
