I don;t know the lore much at all, but I'm a big fan of Talrand, Sky Summoner as a card, just curious how he came up in the lore.
cool thank you I was just curious. i guess i was figuring a legendary creature would have to have something going on.

Yeah he is one of the "Faces" of M13. like above stated not much lore to him other than the stories posted. Coresets have TRADITIONALLY not had alot of lore about them but in recent years they have been incorporating them more and more with more lore.

Seems like he should have fallen in as a planeswalker by now. Just simply based on the little they have written about him.

yeah but theres some areas that they wanted to make a merfolk planeswalker aka Kiora, the Crashing Wave . who was already Debuted in DOTP.

Yea i figured Kiora kinda killed his planeswalker potential. at least for a while. I doubt they would throw 2 merfolk planeswalkers into the mix anywhere near each other, if ever. Just seems like he has that Xenagros mentality of reaching more power and changing the world. Doesn't really say what his real goals are, it sounds sort of evil, but there might be a twist to it. His abilities just cream planeswalker to me. Create tokens, pump creatures, disruptive magic spells. He could easily be a simic or an izzet planeswalker, Could probably pull of DImir too if hes evil enough. Not to mention mono blue. Guess its just me hoping cause I think hes cool.

I wanna see a fight for dominance between Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient and Talrand, Sky Summoner .

Talrand wants power. If he decides to attack the land-folk and send drakes to lift away the people and eat them, what if he attacks Kurkesh because they think he is a threat. Kurkesh would then retaliate, and a fight would ensue.

DarkHero Black is not evil. U/W can be just as evil as B/U.

KrosanTusker I see what you did there. Azorius can be just as evil as Dimir XD.
Back onto the real reason I'm commenting, I always thought that Talrand would make a decent planswalker, but like Venser, he most likely will show up in later sets as a planswalker. Though I could see him being a pawn for Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker , and/or Nicol pulling his strings once he turns planswalker.

Here is a Uncharted Realms story about Talrand. He is also mentioned obliquely in the recent Uncharted Realms story about Kiora.
Unfortunately, that's really all there is. Talrand is from Shandalar, which has only been explored in core sets (it's kind of the world the core sets are set on, although they do draw material from other worlds as well). Because Wizards wants the core sets to be good introductions to magic, there is not much lore for them. So, there really isn't anything else on Talrand.
