From Where Did the New Gods on Amonkhet Originate?

I see that two new deities are suddenly present on Amonkhet, despite there being no mention of them, before, so does that bother anyone else? I have not yet read the story for Aetherdrift, so, perhaps that explains their origins, but I still dislike the sudden addition of very major characters, who previously had not been mentioned; where were they when the Gatewatch was battling Bolas, or when Phyrexia invaded? This is very similar to Aurelia suddenly appearing, when Feather was stated to be the last remaining Boros angel, when Klothys appeared after Elspeth defeated Xenagos, despite there being no mention of her (Klothys) in the original Theros block, and merfolk suddenly appearing on Ravnica, despite there being no mention of them in the original block, on that plane, either.

What does everyone else say, about this? How are there suddenly two new gods on Amonkhet, and does their existence annoy you?

Their existence annoys me too. The story said Bolas wiped the plane of all the gods, save for the four he brainwashed and Bontu being complicit. He had three made and stored away for the Hour of Devastation.

So the fact that these two new bodies have appeared makes no sense to me. Neither does wrapping up my Favourite plane (Amonkhet) into a race course.

Another thing, why did Oketra know the name 'Kytheon' when the only world Gideon ever used it was prespark?

Still bothered by that too

They explain it in the Planeswalker's Guide to Aetherdrift. Sab came from the Lux becoming fertile again, and peoples celebration of that, and the other one came from the peoples belief and fierce survival instinct. They do generally explain new characters if you read the planeswalkers guide.

It's explained in the Planeswalkers guide and Ketramose (the new BW god) actually meets with Chandra in the story and speaks with her. He says something like "As long as there are people on Amonkhet working to face another dawn I will be here"

I see a lot of posts from people on here razzing on WOTC for story stuff, but then they don't read the story or the PW guide and it confuses me? Why be annoyed about something and it potentially not making sense when you could just read about it and understand it? I don't mean this to be rude I just don't understand it, especially since a lot of these people seem to enjoy the lore, and imho the story writing and planeswalker guides have been so much better than they have in the past.

Personally i have not been able to enjoy MTG story anymore. As a whole not as individual stories. Because as a whole the story telling sucks.

Last it was good in my opinion was Amonkhet. After that they accelerated Bolas's plans that had been in the works for almost a decade on this end. Small schemes leading to an end game, planing for centuries on his end. And then he failed spectacularly. Seems unlikely. Should have prolonged the story and fought over a few sets or better yet let him have won and escaped.

Next big arch? Phyrexia. They also planed this for ages. Some might say this was always the endgame Yogmoth was going for. But they blundered in, managed to rip open holes all over the multiverse and invade so many places, only for it all to fail within what felt like days it took to beat the enemy?

We need to stop treating villains like clowns and face the fact that we do not always get to win. But we can have another chance if we dont die here.

As for Ketramose, sure if he was a Theroes god i would buy that but it is not how deities work on Amonkhet.
