Has WotC Forgotten About this Plotline?

When the Scars of Mirrodin block began, Karn was worried that he had unintentionally infected other planes with Phyrexian oil, beyond Mirrodin, but WotC seems to have forgotten about that plot point, since they have not mentioned it, at all, since then, which I believe is unfortunate, since it was an excellent plot line.
What does everyone else say about this? Has WotC forgotten about Karn being worried that he may have accidentally infected other planes?

I think that concern was what led Karn to continually investigate the Phyrexian danger in Dominaria, if I remember correctly. From there, psionictemplar's logic holds up. It's not super relevant if Karn or a Praetor infected the other planes.

TheOfficialCreator, that sounds like a very dangerous presumption to make; if you saw a weed in your garden, would you leave it alone, or remove it, before it could spread?

DemonDragonJ, it's reasonable to conclude that the time period between freeing Karn and digging up the Sylex was significant enough that he managed to either get it all or at least contain it to where New Phyrexia was the only viable threat.* Not to mention since Karn created Mirrodin, wanting to shift priority to stopping his creation from making things worse is actually very much Karn.
Even if Karn left the job unfinished and gave another Planeswalker a list of all the planes he visited to at least do some scouting, there is no telling how many more planes were infected by New Phyrexia since Tezzeret gave Elesh Norn access to planar portal technology.
As others had said here, so much corruption has taken place in the multiverse it no longer even matters how successful he was.
*We know there are still Yawgmoth era Phyrexians on New Capenna even before Urabrask showed up.

TheoryCrafter I like your theory here.
I would go as far to say he shared his list of planes with gatewatch members, which could’ve led to their untimely compleation.
Super interesting.

Likely abandoned because The Good Guys™ can't do anything questionable now.

Since the praetors have been on multiple planes already with sleeper agents to boot it seems kinda irrelevant. Any plane karn could have been on a praetor could have also visited and spread oil that way.
