Hixus's Mentor

When Magic Origins was announced, profile pages were made for the "mentors" of each planeswalker, and the pages for Hixus, Gideon's mentor, mentioned that Hixus's own mentor was a planeswalker.
I feel that WotC would not have mentioned such a detail if they were not planning to explore it in further detail later in the story. What does everyone else here say about this? Will WotC later provide further information about Hixus's mentor?

this is something very interested I hadn't noticed at all. It almost fits my headcannon that heliod is a planeswalker, created nyx while an oldwalker and remains on theros now to keep his power/stay alive.
if we're not looking at that and the mentor is human they're likely dead or old at this point, maybe we could see them in a set some time or in a supplemental story. I agree that it seems like a weird detail for wizards to add and never get back to.

hmmm, if Heliod is an old walker, what are the odds that he created the other gods, with the exception of Xenagos, to be similar to him (just for different mana colors), or even Theros itself?

shinobigarth, that would be a very exciting plot twist, indeed.

Perhaps if we explore more of Gideon's story or if we go back to Theros since that's where he's from.
