Most Flavorful Phyrexian Cards?
Lore forum

Hey guys!
So I'm actually here to get your help for a friend of mine. See, he's new to Magic and is already super Vorthos-y. In particular, he immediately got super into the art and story of the Phyrexians, describing them as "Metal as f***", pun probably not intended.
So now he's decided he wants to build a super-flavorful Atraxa, Praetors' Voice EDH deck.
So here's the question: what are the most phyrexian cards you can think of, especially considering flavor and art (he also loves mtg art)
Already considered:
-All Praetors
Thanks!

Life's Finale, Phyrexian Rebirth, and Black Sun's Zenith are all good board wipes, the first one especially if you intend to run reanimation effects (like Reanimate or Phyrexian Delver, two other flavor cards). Engineered Plague is good if tribal is big in your meta, and Reprocess isn't bad either. Less played options that can be okay are Phyrexian Infiltrator and Phyrexian Etchings. Phyrexian Metamorph is an all-around good card. Phyrexian Totem is, frankly, a bad mana rock, but hey, it's Phyrexian. Torpor Orb is also Phyrexian, but I would not add it if it hoses you. Soul of New Phyrexia is pretty good in EDH.

It would be hard to cast and is expensive, but Phyrexian Obliterator is probably the most flavorful Phyrexian card.

LoneCrusader399 Yeah I wish they'd just reprint that card already, it's so good!

Luckily, with the Iconic Masters reprints the Praetors are much more affordable, most around $10 last I checked. Not convinced that will last, though.

Phyrexian Obliterator for sure, and Phyrexian Altar to sac to and make sure you have the black mana to cast it. Phyrexian flavor sandwich.

Inexorable Tide for flavor text (not a bad effect either), Praetor's Counsel (obviously), Corrupted Conscience, Consecrated Sphinx, Distant Memories are all cool too

Some suggestions:Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon and Blightsteel Colossus?
Ezuri, Claw of Progress and Synthetic Destiny are extremely flavorful, but I'm not sure how good they'd be in that deck.

Man, flavorful Phyrexian cards are expensive. I'll need to let him know this is gonna be a long term project.
Also, ERoss8 I didn't even know about Distant Memories, but I'm about to put it in all of my blue EDH decks. It has Urza-themed lore and and awesome effect.

I would say go for old school Phyrexian cards. Phyrexian Dreadnought is iconic af. Phyrexian Revoker is actually qite useful. Phyrexian Negator, if only for the flavor text. Phyrexian Metamorph is super cool.
also, Phyrexian Devourer + Necrotic Ooze combo ftw.
Phyrexian Reaper wins my award for "most metal phyrexian"

To represent New Phyrexia, Phyrexian Crusader wins the day in my heart, also Dismember. As for old school Phyrexia, I second Boza's pick, Phyrexian Reaper ; the art is fantastic and so is the name.
As a side note, I'm also working on a thematic Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck (Fruits of the Ooze), though I'm might be a bit more permissive with the cards that goes in....

Definitely take the infect route for maximum flavor, especially since atraxa herself ticks up poison counters on your opponents. Triumph of the Hordes is one of my favorite cards as a surprise wincon in edh
Phyrexian Arena is an edh staple, and Birthing Pod is handy. Also the praetors are evil af (ie Sheoldred, Whispering One) but can get expensive
