It's here and it's good. This indicates that we might get a Kothophed creature card from the art in the story, plus we get a bit more into her psyche.

The story was kinda underwhelming, but still a good read. And I want Raven Man just for that artwork... imagine the foils

I would have said something about only 5 legendaries and 5 legendaries/planeswalkers...then I remembered Sliver Hivelord and Garruk, Apex Predator from M15.
We'll wait and see about Kothophed. As I said, the Raven Man is for certain.

15 legendary creatures seems like a bit much for a core set, but I'd like to see both cards too. I'd guess Raven Man at rare, Kothophed at mythic if that's the case.
But that Raven Man art is amazing.

Cool read. I'm glad the Raven Man was given a little more character than before, because I thought he was really confusing before. I wonder who he work for.

It says that Kothoped eminates black mana, right?
Kothoped, Demon of Eternity
Legendary Creature - Demon, 2/2
At the beginning of your upkeep, but a time counter on Kothoped, Demon of Eternity, then add X black mana to your mama pool, where X is the number of Time counters on Kothoped.
: Kothoped gains hexproof until end of turn.

2gherkins thats even less than a black ability lol i'd go with regenerate but giving it that makes its to OP in my opinion. why not go with, : Kothoped gets +1/+1 until the end of turn, to use up that mana

2gherkins I don't think your Kothoped does what you think he does.
Unless you have an instant in your hand, that mana he generates is going to be pretty much useless.

Just like that card with Cumulative Upkeep: Add to your mana pool from kamigawa. What's that called?

Interesting story and the art was beautiful on the note of the art i wonder if we'll get Kothoped and Raven man as cards seeing as we have art for them now. Also as usual Bolas was a badass genius it would of been him that sent Liliana down this path whats on betting the Raven man was an agent of Bolas?

Add: "this mans doesn't empty from your mama pool as steps and phases end."
Indestructible is better because it flavorfully represents his unkillableSkills that he shows Liliana.
Or vice versa? What if bolas works for the raven man?

They spoiled Kothoped on MTG today:

Can't wait to see if Raven Man becomes a card!

Welp, looks like I was wrong. Raven Man (or the art, at least) will most likely be on some rare, or even uncommon.
BTW, Kothoped is a little disappointing. The "draw card, loose a life" is a very black ability, but much like Dark Confidant you don't want that much of it. You essentially can't boardwipe when Kothoped hits the field, which can hurt a strategy.

Damn it, Wizards! I wanted to see the Raven Man. :(
Anyways...I initially dismissed Kothophed, until I realized his potential in EDH. Add a bunch of effects that help you gain life to mitigate the drawback and make it all upside. The first Liliana Vess's -2 combos with Kothophed. He isn't bad, but he certainly demands* that you build around him.
*=Check his flavor text. See what I did there? :p Purely an accident.

idk...we might get The Raven Man. What do Hixus and Chandra's parents have in common? They both aided the respective planeswalkers to realize their full potential and ignite their spark. Here, the Raven Man was the one who did so for Liliana, not Kothophed.
So, I'm betting we'll see the Raven Man here. Kothophed might be a legendary creature token (see Origins Nissa).
