"No," said Sorin. "She lives."

Today's Uncharted realms article is fairly interesting. Link

I wanted to draw attention to a specific quote...

"No," said Sorin. "She lives." The fuller extent of the truth was not something Ugin needed to know at this time, in Sorin's estimation. "I think I may know where she might be."

"Then fetch her to Zendikar. If the titans remain there, we'll need her to rebuild the hedron network."

It appears that Ugin knows that Nahiri is needed to stop the Eldrazi on Zendikar. Ugin also seems to respond fairly rudely to Sorin, maybe hinting at a past argument?

Thoughts?

I wonder if this means Return to Zendikar is going to have a Nahiri planeswalker card? Maybe a reprint of Nahiri, the Lithomancer? Hopefully a new Nahiri though.

YES FINALLY ANOTHER UNCHARTED REALMS ARTICLE.

I have waited weeks for this.

//goes to read

March 27, 2015 1:16 p.m.

GoldGhost012 READ IT NOW. IT'S AWESOME.

no seriously, great article.

March 27, 2015 1:16 p.m.

A new Nahiri planeswalker card for the next block sounds like something cool.

I wonder what Sorin did in the first timeline after finding Ugin.

Sorin gets on everyone's nerves, its expected that he's had arguments with Ugin and Nahiri in the past. He's used to living by his whims, not collaborating to save a large something. I like to think of him as Tony Stark of MTG's Avengers.

The real question is why Nahiri, the guardian and protector of Zendikar, was chased off her plane. Sorin what have you done.

March 27, 2015 1:26 p.m.

Could they be setting up for Nissa replacing Nahiri in the Triumvirate?

March 27, 2015 1:36 p.m.

Shill says... #8

So we dont know what is going on between the two of them? Was just about to try to go find out what I missed.

March 27, 2015 1:36 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #9

canterlotguardian unlikely. Nissa doesn't possess the lithomancy that Nahiri specializes in, her magics are more suited to land manipulation and summoning.

Shill we have no idea what happened to drive Sorin and Nahiri apart. Only that Sorin doesn't want to talk about it.

March 27, 2015 1:43 p.m.

Oh yeah. Ugin did mention that, didn't he? That they had to have the lithomancy that Nahiri could use. Damn.

March 27, 2015 1:45 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #11

The only other info we have on Nahiri since her sealing the Eldrazi away is that she was the one who put the hedron in Ob Nixilis' head, making him Ob Nixilis, the Fallen.

March 27, 2015 2:03 p.m.

So could Ob Nixilis show up? Seeing as he freed himself from the hedron while on Shandalar? That could lead to him getting his Planeswalker spark back and showing up to cause trouble for Nahiri later on. (Maybe he's the reason why she hasn't been found lately...)

March 27, 2015 2:06 p.m.

JWiley129 says... #13

canterlotguardian - That's not quite what happened. As part of the plot of Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015, the player (aka YOU :D ) goes to Zendikar and removes the hedron from Ob Nixilis' head and puts it in Garruk. So Ob never left Zendikar and is still there.

JakeHarlow says... #14

Sorin banged Nahiri, and then they had a "petty tiff" over it, to use Ugin's parlance.

99.9% sure that this is what happened.

Either that or Ugin banged her and then Sorin got mad:

JakeHarlow, I bet you're right. The first part anyway. Either that or he ate her family. Assuming she has a family.

March 27, 2015 2:56 p.m.

Ah. See I don't play any of the DOTP games, so I wouldn't have known that. So my boy Ob is still on Zendikar. That makes me more happy than I could have known. I'm still sticking to the "removing the hedron will eventually lead to him getting his spark back" theory.

No one thinks Nahiri may be the one to have done something wrong? Either way, Sorin really doesn't want to see her. Interesting set up for getting back to zendikaR though. Solid article

GoldGhost012 says... #19

mpeach1 to be fair, Sorin's the most dickish of the trio and the most likely to piss the other two off with his attitude. Plus his reluctance to completely tell Ugin just what happened to Nahiri implies that he was a major part of what happened.

As 'dickish' as Sorin may be, I find the every part concerning Nahiri intriguing. As much as I aim to not give spoilers since it's a quick read (above link), I don't think the distance had much to do with Sorin being a dick; opposite, in fact. What color was Nahiri again? :-o

I think it would be great to see Ob Nixilis oppose the trio in Return to Zendikar. Since he wants the plane destroyed to get his spark back, all he has to do is sit back and let the Eldrazi consume the plane for him. Once it's dead (assuming he's still alive), he should get his spark back.

Sorin also wonders if Nahiri was the one that attacked Ugin. Couldn't it be that Nahiri is just really pissed at Ugin (and Sorin), because Ugin forced the captive Eldrazi onto Zendikar and her. Maybe that's why Sorin is reluctant to find her. He knows she's no happy camper, but Ugin doesn't realize this yet, or thinks such anger is irrelevant.

March 28, 2015 1:31 p.m.

JakeHarlow says... #31

Could be. But the situation was put to her by Sorin and Ugin as (summarized), "Zendikar will eventually be eaten by the Eldrazi anyway, so if you want to be guaranteed to save it, it would be best to use it as a prison world." So I think she grudgingly acknowledged the sense in this and complied with the plans put forth by the other two Planeswalkers.

I think Nahiri and Sorin banged at the after-party and shit got weird. Maybe Ugin watched and/or released a sex tape on Ravnica, which was then distributed by the Rakdos. Nahiri blamed Sorin and dumped him, which led to him calling the Kor a "bitch." And now Sorin feels kind of bad about it because he actually liked Nahiri. And not just for her hard-Kor body.

I get the impression from reading it that something more profound than fuckery happened between Sorin and Nahiri. I mean, come on, dude's 6 millennia old, think he cares for every girl he banged along the way? Why would he regret it? Maybe she's pissed they left her as warden, maybe she asked Sorin for vampirella action and now he regrets that, maybe who frakkin' cares? At this point it's all just conjecture, but my money is that even if they did the dance of the two-backed beast, it has nothing to do with sex (his reluctance).

MarduGras says... #39

After the mending all planeswalkers became mortal so there's no way she would be alive if she was still a normal kor. I think Sorin turned her into a vampire so that if she was ever needed she would still be alive. Maybe she didn't take being turned into a vampire (possibly against her will) very well and now she hates Sorin.

I like MarduGrass theory.

March 29, 2015 6:51 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #41

Maybe Sorin was kind of doing a Twilight bit. "This way we can be together forever, Nahiri." He'd never been laid so good, so he decided he needed to ensure he'd always have a sheath for his stoneforged blade.

That's when Ugin's jealousy came into play.

March 29, 2015 11:24 a.m.

Sorin accidentaly murdered Nahiri while banging her and now she's a vampire.

March 30, 2015 5:18 p.m.

Kroto says... #43

I just remembered smth regarding Duel 2015 : at the very end after Garruk is beat there is a short sequence showing ob in the outro. So the possibility of Ob Nixilis could be there.

March 30, 2015 6:34 p.m.

Ok even before This article came out I was having the discussion with my friends in how she would be alive, what I find interesting is that sorin didn't know about bolas and wonders if nehiri might have done that to ugin I kinda got the impression that ugin was a little out of her weight class, does this mean she's had some kind of major power up, what if she pulled a lilianna, made a deal with a dark entity, it would explain a lot

March 31, 2015 12:19 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #45

It is somewhat puzzling that Sorin's had so few interactions with Bolas. What's his relationship with him, if any?

March 31, 2015 3:19 a.m.

RussischerZar says... #46

Well, the Multiverse is a big place after all. Maybe Bolas just didn't touch down on Innistrad yet.

How about Nahiri's body was going to crumple due to too much age, so she used Lithomancy to make herself a new body. So we have a new Karn, but one made out of hedrons rather than silver.

Also #SorhiriForever, there's a reason why Sorin went from mono- to

March 31, 2015 10:14 a.m.

JakeHarlow says... #48

Sorin isn't paying child support?

March 31, 2015 11:12 a.m.

Rayenous says... #49

@superkamiguru7506

Sorin only assumed that Nahiri may have had something to do with Ugin's Crucible due to the fact that it was made of Hedrons.

The assumption may imply that Sorin believes Nahiri would have 'reason' and/or 'the capability' to do this to Ugin... but I think the Hedron were the real reason for the assumption.

March 31, 2015 11:24 a.m.

AngryBearTony says... #50

@Rayenous I can get behind that idea. Makes the most sense as to why he might be trepidatious after seeing the huge hedron coffin-bed. Now there's a thought: Ugin the Vampire Spirit Dragon! I find it difficult to believe that Nahiri is still on Zendikar, though.
