Original Plane Ideas?

Okay, I'm back! Sorry it's been a couple of weeks, I've been a bit busy lately.
Anyway, here's my question: If you could create your own original plane, what would it be like? What would it be called? What kinds of creatures would live there?
Blade Runner-esque sci-fi with multiple planets on the same plane. Plane would be named after the planet humans originate from something like Optra. Main villain of the block would probably be a shadowy organization investigating what turn out to be planeswalkers.

I'd like a plane without humans or humanoids. No buildings no civilization just animals

Lol that would make for an odd weekly story, but whatever

Post-Eldrazi dead world turned Phyrexian outpost, scouting out planes to "bless" with mechanical perfection, when they see Bolas's Meditation Plane... and a new black starts ('cause we already know about Bolas's Meditation Plane. I'm not cheating)

A plane inhabited by just pre-Mending planeswalkers, but all of them are trapped on that plane because they made a deal with the ruler of the plane, whereby they are bound to that plane forever, but get to keep all of their other pre-Mending power. The whole story would basically be about an old wizard who discovers a loophole that would allow him to unleash all of the trapped planeswalkers, but he has to consider whether that will wreck the Multi-verse

I like jboss1642's idea. It'd be interesting if some number of pre-mending walkers were trapped on a plane isolated from the multiverse (like how in OG ravnica block agyrem prevented walkers from going there, but the other way around). And then, because it was completely isolated from the multiverse, no other walkers know about it and it wasn't affected by the mending.
Also, plane inhabited by only Storm Crows and ruled by Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded

Not specifically a brand-new plane, but I'd like to go to Ob Nixilis' home plane.
All life on the plane was destroyed in his deal with a group of demons, and the plane is in ruins. Exploring it is what caused his spark to ignite. But that was pre-mending, so at least 60 years ago, probably more like several hundred.
It would therefore be interesting to see in what ways the plane has revitalized, whether by natural progression or by the demons resculpting it in their image. Perhaps Nixlis lures one/all of the Gatewatch there as a sort of arena to exact his revenge.

A plane where it was as very advanced as kaledesh and then they discover nuclear power, or a magic equivalent, and the plane gets nuked so its basically a post apocalyptic plane maybe similar to fallout, with just about every creature being mutant, and maybe a machanic that each player a poison counter and each non mutant gets a -1/-1 counter, and maybe call it irradiated

A dark plane, without sun or moon, just an endless starry sky. The flora and fauna would radiate mana in an eerie luminous glow and consume each other for the mana they contain. Even the plants are carnivorous. A race of Vedalkin vampires would be the dominant life on the plane, having come here from an unknown plane though an ancient Planar Portal. There would be a race of elementals that fled the dying sun and are now the dwindling defenders of the weak, a burnt husk of their former glory. Somewhere in the middle, a race of curious and creative goblins tinker away on overly complex and cooperative constructs, driven by a need to build what they do not have. Lastly, there would be a race of noble undead. Mournful spirits from the time before the Vedalkin. They seek to reclaim their home and banish the invaders.
Mechanically, The vedalken would be B/U, with Sengir Vampire +1/+1 counter abilities and an underlying theme of removing counters to draw cards. The Elementals would be R/W with a focus on Blood Mooning lands and bolting creatures. The Goblins would be U/R, they would focus on tokens and equipment with an underlying theme of tutoring. The Revenants would be b/w with and endless cycle of recursion and a sub theme of spot exile and martyrdom. Finally the Radiant wilds would be Green with WBURG abilities, think Birds of Paradise. They would have an underlying theme of graft/modular, so your +1/+1's never leave the board so long as you have a plant in play.

Postmortal_Pop's idea is actually really cool. I love it. I might have to make some cards for that set... seems like it has some potential.

Couple ideas to throw at you...
A subterranean plane, with its inhabitants stuck underground for whatever story driven reason. Likely dwarves, dark elves, and goblins along with humans and whatever wildlife comes with cave dwelling.
A Nordic plane, complete with gods, a ragnorok-esque story progression, and underdeveloped villagers to raid. (Way to abandon England, Rome. Shouldn't have over expanded...)
I have to say Izzet_Planeswalker, I REALLY like the post apocalyptic idea. You could easily fit an equipment sub theme in there as lost tech, as well as offer new twists and sub types for existing races. Could even use my predescribed idea of subterranea with the surface being uninhabitable.

Yeah I think there is so much they could delve into with a set like that, it would be unique and I love the idea, pulse id love to see a planeswalker form a plane like that

Saheeli, Archaic Scavenger. Ral Zarek, Tech-Mage. A walker utilizing the radiation mechanic, prolly black green: Garruk, Mutant Handler. It's an exciting thought.

Yea it really is, it's something truly unique for magic but it could feasibly fit into the lore, a plane like that would truly be cool and outside of the norm

My idea for a plane is an artificial plane created by a planeswalker of immense power eons ago. The plane is small in size, being almost entirely occupied by a massive colosseum. The plane has no natural inhabitants, but, instead, beings from countless other planes across the multiverse travel to it, sometimes willingly, sometimes unwillingly, to compete in endless gladiatorial game for the pleasure of a sadistic master of ceremonies (likely an angel or demon of great power). There are no rules; whoever lives, wins, and only those who survive can leave the plane, but a certain group of combatants wish to overthrow the violent system and liberate everyone on the plane who is there against their will.
What does everyone think of that idea?
November 13, 2017 9:10 p.m.
kanokarob, that seems uncalled for. There's no need to be rude. Constructive criticism is welcome, but not blatant insults.
DemonDragonJ I think the idea sounds like it could be interesting, as long as wizards doesn't make the "certain group of combatants" in question the Gatewatch. I think if one or two existing walkers were thrown in with some new and unique characters, that could be a cool story.
November 14, 2017 1:12 p.m.
It isn't an insult, first of all. That would be calling him stupid for coming up with such a tired and cliche idea, which I did not do did not intend to imply.
The concept of an interdimensional compulsory colosseum is very overused. The two examples that come to mind first are Teen Titans and Ratchet: Deadlocked, but it is a concept that's been repeated time and time again. Its a bit too... Uninspired for a magic plane, much less a set.

vbfabled, I certainly did not intend to reference the Gatewatch in my previous post, so perhaps I should have used a different term; I was thinking that a warrior who has been captured and enslaved on the plane for too long to remember finally deciding to rally a rebellion against the plane's masters, not unlike the Hebrew slaves, led by Moses, escaping from Egypt in the book of Exodus.

I have this faint skeleton of an idea. Imagine a plane where all intelligent races were hunted to extinction but the most powerful mage on the plane- or maybe a planeswalker- cast a powerful enchantment that caused them all to become spirits tied to different objects (that could be a mechanic, I know roughly how it would be executed). If these objects are placed in a certain legendary device (which I just realized is a little too immortal-sun-like, given that it's a powerful, semi-unknown macguffin), can return their bodies to them. So in the first block, all creatures are spirits, in the second block, it's about 60/40, and in the third, it's maybe 30/70? Maybe in the end, some people start to realize they enjoyed being spirits? It's an idea for now, but I feel like we could really make it something unique and awesome.

I've had an idea for something like this for a while now to the point where I played around on MSE for a while to see how they'd look.
The idea I have is basically a Napoleonic War style fantasy setting with the regimented and overwhelming Mardu coloured Regalian Empire (Based off the British Redcoats with Humans, Orcs, Dwarves and Cats in their ranks) facing off against the Adaptable and tactical Guerilla Bant coloured Esurian Legionairres of St. Elma (Aesthetically based off the French Foreign Legion around the 1880's comprised of Aven, Naga, Humans and Elves).
This Plane has also been untouched by the knowledge of planeswalkers, the inhabitants have no clue what they are or that such power is even possible.
All I have nailed down about the story is the inciting event is a clumsy planeswalker that shifts in in the middle of a peace treaty signing which makes both sides assume there is a double agent working to sabotage the plans and neither side can be trusted, thrusting the plane into chaos again.
The stories would follow individual generals' stories in the key battles that would follow, each side getting more and more drawn into the war and escalating before at the last battle of the set the main hero of each faction would ignite sparks mid combat and arrive at another plane in the middle of a political wedding, making them both realise that the war had possibly started over something similar that they literally couldn't comprehend, just like how they had just appeared out of thin air there.
The set would contain three main new mechanics, one general and two faction ones.
General-Morale: Checks a certain state of the game to see if you are "winning" if you are you get an effect(eg Morale: If you have the highest number of cards in your hand at the beginning of your upkeep you gain 5 life)
Regalus Empire:
Regiment: Gives a card a bonus effect if a legendary creature is present.(eg Regiment: If you control a legendary creature this creature gains "Tap: Matchlock Sharpshooter deals 3 damage to target creature or player)To take advantage of this the Regalus Empire would have more legendary creatures to provide a "Chain of Command" type of playstyle where your heroes are valued by not just you but your other grunt creatures.
Esurian Legionnaires:
Detatchment: Detachment is an alternate method of casting creature spells allowing you to choose what you need for a situation.
(e.g Aven Legionairres (3)(U)
Creature- Aven Soldier
Flying 4/4
Detachment: When you cast this creature spell choose one;
-Aven Legionairres gains Lifelink
-Exile this card, create two 2/2 white/blue Aven Soldier creature tokens with Flying and Vigilance onto the battlefield)
Detachment would allow the Esurian Legionnaires to tailor their creatures to the strategy they need at any given time, allowing them greater options and flexibility.
Apologies for rambling wall of text :)

That is pretty cool. Two problems (it's a small one).
1) Guerillas are not famously just and/or peaceful. I think we need some red in there. Maybe they're RWB and the empire is Grixis?
2) This sounds a little like the Kaladesh story, but with some planewalker hijinks thrown in. Big empire toppled by awesome, totally-justified renegades?
Anyway maybe we can revive this chat. Take a look at my idea above and give me your criticisms.

Well here's a problem: every color combo that isn't 4-color has basically been used.
However the return of Bloodthirst and maybe Unleash would be quite nice (for one of my decks in particular). If we wanted to do gods, it would need to be quite a bit later (the first god sets were what, 2/3 years apart). I would love to see a norse set with a non-white viking faction fighting against some sort of knights, maybe in non-black.

Flipped creature alignments: BR Angels, UB Elves, GW Zombies, WB Goblins, GR Avens, R Sphinxes, W Demons, etc. Think Role Reversal

Umbra A plane where from the immense magical power being dispersed from the sun has made the outside of Umbra uninhabitable for most creatures except for a few powerful magic wielders (Planeswalkers) and powerful magical beasts that have adapted to survive in the Top Layer. The Top Layer (Dawn Realm) is made up of purely basic lands with no civilizations this is because of the immense magical power being exposed to the Dawn Realm , any creature not capable of withstanding the power will be induced with a sickness which incapacitates them and with prolonged exposure leading to death. There is also a thick hazy fog that rests all over the Dawn Realm this is the pure manifestation of the mana and the main cause of the sickness. This sickness has forced the creatures and inhabitants of Umbra to retreat to the huge caves within Umbra (The Shade Realm) and over time civilizations built huge cities and fortresses underneath the earth. But living in The Shade Realm doesn’t come without its difficulty there are just as many dangerous creatures living beneath the surface than on top.
Game mechanic: Sickness (probably needs a different name) But what Sickness does is when any card with sickness comes in to play (even lands) the lowest mana costing creature on the opponent’s team will gain sickness (When there are two of the same mana the creatures controller picks which one gets sickness). When a creature has sickness they are tapped for three turns but each turn they get a chance to roll a dice and if the creature with sicknesses toughness is higher than the roll they lose sickness this goes on for three turns and on the third if the creature hasn’t lost sickness they die and go to the graveyard. For Example, if I have a 5/5 creature and it gains sickness and on my first roll, I roll a 6 my creature would still have sickness. But on my next go I roll a 5 my creature would lose sickness. This also means any creature 6 and above are immune to sickness apart from being tapped for one opposing turn. I think this mechanic would work really well because it represents what the sickness does while adding a new mechanic to the game.
If you have any feedback I would really love to hear it thx

Straight up medieval fantasy. Imagine bant, but with all colors. Knights, dragons, witches, elves, dwarves and the like. Dunno what I'd call it though
