In true Magic Story fashion, here let us discuss the many details about the War of the Spark book by Greg Weisman. What are your favourite or least favourite parts? What do you think of the major outcomes of the story?

This is not a discussion of whether or not the book is worth reading. It is a discussion of its contents and assumes those participating have read the book.

One of my favourite parts was when the Gatewatch were all renewing their oaths. We finally got to see Teferi's oath ... and then Nissa renewed hers! I actually got a bit emotional during this piece; I just love the Oaths and their form and all the experiences they speak of. Nissa is also my favourite so I'm happy she has rejoined the Gatewatch.

I also liked Vraska's assignment to go after Dovin. She'll have to get creative since he can't see her anymore. Kaya's assignment to go after Liliana will put her in very direct conflict with the Gatewatch she just joined.

I have to say, I was pretty invested in Dack's segment of the story. I knew what was coming before I read it because of the trailer, but reading everything that led up to that was the most interesting part of the book imo. It's a shame he'd go out with such a fizzle, but in the end his decision to risk his life doing what he felt was right instead of running and abandoning Ravnica and the walkers remaining there to defend it, and the scenes on Amonkhet, were still not too bad a lead-in. Part of me hopes there's some convoluted way to bring him back later, but I feel like that's probably it for him. RIP Dack Fayden... :(

Yeah, Dack's setup had him making the same decision to stay that the Gatewatch vow to make. If he hadn't died I could've seen him considering taking the oath. Evoking these kinds of thoughts demonstrates how well his character was developed.
