would he be catagorized as good, neutral or evil?
It seems that the more I look into him he seems to fit kind of a chaotic-good type of personality.
thoughts?
JA14732 you're confusing Sorin with Sarkhan. I'd put Sarkhan at neutral, b/c he's neither good nor bad.

I'd say he's more good than bad, but has done bad things because of his confusion regarding dragons and the reality of Nicol Bolas's plans.

See above. He served evil and it corrupted him, but he has good in him. He seems to be in search of redemption in this block.

Whoops, read Sorin, not Sarkhan. Entirely my bad. In that case, Sarkhan is definitely neutral IMO. He's just searching for a powerful dragon to serve due to the shamans he learned from on Tarkir; sadly, he decided to pledge to Nicol Bolas, who destroyed his mind and forced him to do evil things. If another dragon were to appear who is more powerful than Bolas, say Ugin, and who wanted to do good, Sarkhan would be doing good. There's a reason that he's only once been a leader, and that experience involved him destroying all the troops in the battlefield after Ugin told him how (yes, I'm certain that the dragon that resulted in Sarkhan's ascension was Ugin because why else would they be referencing him so heavily?).

I think he's neutral that has the potential to switch to good with this story, or perhaps he's neutral who has accidentally done bad and will accidentally do good.

I agree. Sarkhan seems to be Chaotic Good in terms of morality but his actions seem to show more on the Chaotic Neutral in his defense though he was all crazy.

He likes Dragons. A lot.
That said, he's not a bad apple, really. The deeds he did on Bolas' behalf were born of his religious fervor, misguided though it was. And he quickly saw that the Dragon Planeswalker was not worthy of his devotion.
Plus, he saved Ajani Goldmane from certain death on Jund. After helping him, he taught the leonin the importance of vengeance. And presumably some red magic, because we immediately got Ajani Vengeant.
He's a religious nut, but he has an internal logic that he doesn't betray (when he's in his right mind). He wants to worship Dragons. But he clearly rejects wanton destruction and evil, and helps those in need if he feels respect for them. He's neither cruel nor vicious. Currently, his selfless goal is to heal Tarkir, which he calls a "damaged world." He's got principles, they're just a bit hard to understand. But for a guy who had as savage an upbringing as he did (Mardu warrior), he's a thoughtful and driven guy with a lot more depth to him than we thought. Now that his mental faculties have been returned to him by Ugin's spirit, I daresay we will see more sides to this Planeswalker.
I call him an aggressive, uncompromising, but principled neutral. He's not thoughtless, unjust, vicious, cruel, or uncharitable. He may even tend toward good as the block progresses. I like Sarkhan, and I really hope he doesn't meet his end in a Venser-like noble sacrifice at the block's conclusion.

Well since this is here anyways....chaotic neutral for sure. Just follows the dragons religiously and does what they command, capable of doing good or evil.

Chaotic neutral. However, if FRF goes as planned, he could jump to chaotic good-ish.

yea hes pretty clearly chaotic good at his point now that he is actually trying to make things right. otherwise hes a consensus chaotic neutral.

He's definitely done some pretty bad things in the past, however, his motives are neutral. Because of his madness, I wouldn't really say that he's evil, so I'll agree with the rest of you guys and say chaotic neutral.

Definitely good. He saved the plane of Innistrad by creating Avacyn, he imprisoned the Eldrazi and attempted to save Zendikar when they were released (Nissa screwed up that plan, though); currently, he's presumably searching for the Lithomancer and Ugin to re-contain the Eldrazi threat.
