so...Narset?

Im totally digging all these theories about whats going to happen with Narset over the course of the rest of the Khans block (one of my faves is shes off-plane during the shenans), and I thought of something that could make sense with what we know. Maybemaybe Narset is just dead. At least, this Narset. What if, as a result of time travel shenans, we do end up with dragons as the khans in DTK. That would free up Narset (presumably still alive) to become a planeswalker. That way, the general public gets a bamf woc 3-color pw and creative gets to kill her off. Everybodys happy

Here is the thing: Most PW's ignite their sparks in times of crises (i.e. about to die/traumatic experience). They did not explicitly say she is dead, so maybe she ascends and travels to another world to heal

It would make sense to see a 3-colour walker in the block after all the 3-colour hype and MaRo himself made some vague remarks about a 3-colour walker being seen soon-ish.
Narset would make sense as the Planeswalkers Guide for Khans mentioned her having hidden abilities and was very suspicious sounding and we haven't had a direct "Narset is dead" line from the Uncharted Realms story which is standard story telling for meaning not actually dead.

I do think she'll be alive in the alternate time line. She may be a planeswalker now that she's not as bound by the Jeskai. Three colors seems very unlikely though. If we were going to see one in this block, it would have been in the actual wedge set.

Unfortunately, the newest Uncharted Realsm article says she perished in the old timeline. Looking forward to what she looks like in the new one though.

Yeah, but the whole "Butterfly" thing could mean that she never even exists in the new timeline. some dragon could eat her ancestor 1000 years before she is even born

Yeah, must've been a hell of a hit from Zurgo. But at the same time, what if by going back in time, Sarkhan ends up becoming Narset's ancestor? or he does something to ensure the face that she'll still be alive, because he seemed pretty adamant on her being able to see a better Tarkir

Although the article says she's perished, this is very much from Sarkhan's view point. I wouldn't say it's 100% she's not gonna come back a walker

I wish people would stop assuming that the other sets in this block won't be wedge themed... We've already seen wedge cards in frf spoilers. Just sayin.

They can't keep throwing out wedge cards. Decks would be too hard to build and games would go on longer than needed. That's why the leaders are mono colored mana cost with a hybrid cost for abilities. That way they can be used in 2 colored decks as well as the clan colors. Narset may be a freyelise in the future, by that I mean released in commander even though lore says she would be dead in the present time line.

Zurgo is a 5 mana creature with haste, meaning he should be able to swing two turns before she is able.

I hope we get a UWR planeswalker of her in either FRF of DTK but I think that is just wishful thinking...
