A good story. Gideon's rousing speech was awesome. Let's go, Zendikar!

Gideon definitely earned this one. Hopefully he lives up to the expectations given to him.

There's no doubt that he will do his best. I think he's prepared to sacrifice everything.
I hope this doesn't end with the sad all-is-lost type arc that Scars of Mirrodin gave us.

VampireArmy: Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who misses the novels. The lore of the last few blocks seem like they could have really produced some solid books.

now all we need is nissa to join the army and all the people of zendikar will be fighting with all the land of zendikar.
anyone think this block will end in zendikar rid of eldrazi but full of corruption, leaving us open to a third zendikar block focused on healing the plane? I think it's the most logical way for the block to end, there's lots of player attachment to zendikar and we lost the last apocalypse-battle on mirrodin.

asasinater13, we win too many apocalypse battles. Let Zendikar become dust, then we can see Vyrn or something.

Yes, I definitely felt the tension in the atmosphere of this story, as well as the severe desperation of the inhabitants of Zendikar as the fight a seemingly hopeless battle against the unstoppable Eldrazi menace. I believe that it is very fair to say that the Eldrazi are the greatest threat to the multiverse since the original Phyrexia (and they set the standard for multiverse-threatening super-villains very high).
At this point, I worry that either all the heroes shall be defeated, or there may be no way for them to defeat the Eldrazi without some deus ex machina that strains credibility. I do hope that the writers can provide a satisfying conclusion to the story of this block.

EDIT: Holy shit that was great. Gideon is such a fucking bad-ass. I love it.
