New Uncharted Realms talking about Gideon, the fight on Zendikar, and Ravnica.
I can neither confirm, nor deny, my status of being a Ninja.
I even got to read the entire story before making the thread :p

Read the whole thing too, why you gotta read like 1 min faster than me ;)

So Zendikar needs Jace to solve the mystery of the hedrons and their leylines. What a surprise. Maybe they'll also need Chandra to... I dunno, burn something or something.
Gideon's just lucky as hell that he didn't collapse before reaching the Guildpact's chambers, wow. Hopefully Jace is there and not taking one of his many planeswalks through the cosmos when he wakes up!
Also, how much time does it take for Ugin to recover? Shouldn't he be hurrying his ass back to Zendikar ASAP?

So Gideon and jace are in BFZ. Nissa is very likely. Other possibilities are Kiora, Ugin, Sorin, and Nahiri. That's already too many planeswalkers, and even if one of those doesn't make the cut, there is still no room for any new walkers. I'm guessing Nahiri, Sorin, and Ugin will be in a separate block dedicated to stopping Emrakul, since at this point he and Kozilek have left Zendikar. Bolas is also possible because he was the one who manipulated events into freeing the Eldrazi, and doesn't know Ugin is alive.

Maybe just a set that goes outside the norm with planeswalkers?

Nissa and Kiora are definitely confirmed, just by the art from the Comic-Con panel. I'm not sold on Ugin or Jace appearing, but I'm willing to be surprised.

It's official: Gideon has now become my favorite character in recent years. So badass trying to tackle everything at once, despite how weary and sleep-deprived he was.
But yeah, I never thought I'd see the day that the Shattergang Brothers showed up, especially with Krenko.
Oh, and I hope Gideon pounds the situation hard into Jace's head (or at least Ugin will, judging by the BFZ art). Yes, he's busy having tea and cookies with the guilds, but I'd say the Eldrazi are far scarier.

Im not totally certain that Jace and Ugin will be in BFZ, but after the SDCC art of Jace and Ugin on Zendikar, I'm inclined to believe they'll both be present. Also, Ob Nixilis could make a comeback and will definitely be a role-player in the block after seeing the sweet art of him dissecting an eldrazi spawn and choking a kor.

Can someone please post the art? I'm afraid I never saw it :P

That Ugin/Jace art is awesome. I want foils. All the foils.

I would say that this is fair confirmation of Kiora being in BFZ... wielding the Bident of Thassa.

I say every mythic in bfz is either a walker or eldrazi!

that was a good UR. I'm very excited for BFZ, though I would love to see a bit more origins stuff.

I could imagine Wizards shifting their focus even more on Planeswalkers and thus having up to 5-6 of them in their big sets (remember new rotation is Big-Small-Big-Small-etc). They already had 6 in M15, so why not here too.
I could imagine Kiora, Gideon, Jace, Nissa, Chandra and Ob Nixilis (as a PW!) in BfZ and then Sorin, Nahiri and Ugin (and possibly Bolas) in the follow-up set.

Side note on the picture with Kiora and Gideon: together they are Bant colors, the initial plane that Gideon planeswalked to :D

Maybe Nixilis as a flip walker since he hasn't gotten his powers back....yet?
July 16, 2015 9:38 a.m.
RussischerZar - Maro has said that on the new block format the large sets will have 3 planeswalkers and small sets will have 2.

I don't think Nahiri will be in the BFZ block, because Sorin clearly messed something up terribly bad with her, and if she isn't on Zendikar now that means that she most likely abandoned it for whatever reason.
July 16, 2015 10:02 p.m.
Femme_Fatale: The last time we saw Nahiri, she went to find Sorin because she felt distressed about being immortal, which was a pre-mending planeswalker trait.
Whatever happened to Nahiri, Sorin and Ob Nixilis had to be there when it occurred (it being unknown at this time). Nixy did say a little bit about how the Kor reminded him of her.

Well, considering that Sorin portrayed very obvious discomfort when Ugin told him to fetch Nahiri, whatever happened must have been serious. I'm thinking some sort of love thing in which Sorin accidentally turned Nahiri into a vampire. It's like Twilight, only on magic cards.

I wonder how one accidentally turns another into a vampire. Seems like it would have to be a very intentional thing.
She's either completely pissed at someone/something or trapped somewhere. Whatever it is, it must be major enough to keep her from her beloved Zendikar.
This is just spitballing ideas, but maybe after The Mending and her spark changed, she managed to get back to Zendikar. The plane didn't recognize her and attacked her, driving her away and preventing her from coming back. She later encounters Sorin and major shit goes down, perhaps blaming him for the existence of vampires of Zendikar.

That was another one of the reasons I thought Nahiri could be really upset at Sorin for, the existence of Vampires on Zendikar. They are sort of what caused her to go out in the first place as they tried to release the Eldrazi.
July 16, 2015 11:51 p.m.
Beautiful irony is, though, is that the vampires were enslaved.
But, yeah, Nahiri said that Sorin created vampires on Zendikar (reckless move, according to her...not remembering it right). I really want to know what happened to everyone's favorite lithomancer. She's either a vampire or, like Tuktuk the Explorer, remade by Eldrazi magic.
