Uncharted Realms: The Blight We Were Born For

I hope you guys don't mind if I continue to call it Uncharted Realms.

Link here.

This story is a bit of a weird one. I liked it anyway. The backstory of General Tazri has a very cool fantasy vibe to it that I think I will use at some point for a character or NPC in an RPG.

I just hope that we get to "see" the PWs in action some time soon.

Yeah, it was confusing at first, but then it made sense. You really had to think in the middle of it or else you'd get completely lost. If we ever got some sort of alternate reality set for Zendikar, I'd really want to see Tazri's insane form.

Drana went temporarily crazy when she smashed into and drank the blood of an eldrazi; now Tazri goes temporarily crazy when Kozilek gets too close. Clearly non-eldrazi creatures don't have the mental capacity to handle this madness

Drana - through her own will power - was able to break free of the bloodthirsty pawn-like mindset the eldrazi wanted her to become. Tazri was able to break free due to her dealings with the Angel. The eldrazi can't seem to control what they don't possess themselves: love, honor, and shear willpower!

...BUT: Tazri does see something weird in Drana's eyes, which could be remnants of the eldrazi blood & influence. Hmmm...

I really hope Omnath makes an appearance. If he doesn't, I'd be sorely disappointed.

When and why did the name change for Uncharted Realms?

Next week, we get to see Nixy turn into Flambeed Demon.

Who wants Barbecued Demon? Anyone?

I do not see any reason to change the name of the weekly story column, but that, unlike most of the other changes that WotC has made recently, does not bother me, so I shall not mention it, any further.

The story was an excellent one! I really liked how it gave greater depth to Tazri with both her backstory and how she grew and developed as a character, eventually becoming the new leader of the Zendikari forces. I especially liked the manner in which the story described Kozilek's presence affecting the characters, and the alternate future that Tazri experienced. Those were particularly frightening narrative passages that really portrayed the sheer horror of the Eldrazi and their threat to Zendikar (and, by extension, the rest of the multiverse).

I must say that I am now very excited for the conclusion of the Battle for Zendikar story, which shall likely be happening soon, and I really hope that it is as well-written as was this story and does not disappoint the readers.

DemonDragonJ you're right, it was pretty gory. Tazri gets legendary status because she &@$%# survived!

If the 'flicker's didn't trigger my brains ability to realize the story was putting other stories on the stack, I would of had a much harder time reading that. As it is though, it was a good read. I didn't get too confused by it.

I'm hoping for a conclusion soon. I'm want to know what the planeswalkers are doin.

This was so crazy. Like, I don't even know Tazri or didn't until today. Why am I so moved?

More than anything I've seen, read, or heard these uncharted realms make me wish I was a painter. Not even Kinkade could put onto canvas my imaginings so bolstered by this wondrous work of letters.

I shed more tears than ever hearing "Oh Night" by a hundred strong choir. It was magnificent.

kengiczar Wow. Yeah I didn't even really know Tazri till today either.

I'm really curious to see what would happen if she were to regain her memories.

I liked the part that Tazri was in

Phaetion thankfully, that wasn't the case. Nixy survived and left Zendikar. :P

Darn. Nixy's still badass for taking on 4 Planeswalkers alone. I'll give him that.
