I really liked this story.

Now, on to some speculation: how about the fail safe that Bolas mentioned was actually Bolas' failsafe and not Ugin's? Maybe Bolas needed Ugin alive for something? Maybe he underestimated the Eldrazi and now needs Ugin to banish them again? Or maybe he knows that Ugin has some specific really powerful Magic which initially was used to banish the Eldrazi and he needs to see it at work to be able to copy it?

And there's also the Sarkhan + Narset thing going on ... *BigHopesForFirstPWcoupleInModernTimes*

This was a great UR entry. It does a top-notch job of expressing the inner peace and true happiness Sarkhan has started to find in his new life and the new Tarkir. The look on his face in the Sarkhan Unbroken card art is just priceless, and one of the main reasons I reeeeeally wanted the Game Day playmat.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bolas simply attacked Ugin to get rid of a rival and potential foil, rather than as part of a setup for a deeper plan. My guess about the failsafe is that it's a trap specifically set for Ugin (likely back on Zendikar) just in case he somehow survived the battle.

I really liked the "please don't let this get awkward" vibe in Narset's "Were you...close?" question to Sarkhan, and he did a good job giving an honest and reassuring answer.

That was actually a really interesting read! Im usually not much of a Loremaster, but i might be after this.

This just raises one huge question though. What will be of Tarkir when battle for zendikar rolls around? Will we see Sarkhan/Narset? SO MANY QUESTIONS. THIS IS WHY I SHOULDNT READ THINGS >_<

As much as I enjoyed the read, I am really frustrated with it, too. So few answers to anything in the future or even the past. As for that failsafe... Intriguing. It couldn't have been Yasova's dragon spell to make them fight for Bolas, but I find it interesting that he even mentioned it to Sarkhan. Unless he meant that he killed Ugin as a way for the not to be repaired, I don't know...

I also thought it was interesting we don't get much reaction from Ugin, if any, at the 'new' Tarkir and the dragonlords.

Well he might not be reacting because he figured, in his time period, that the dragons were destined to win the war. That might explain why :3.

I love reading these though, the way they are all set up is impressive. They're all wonderful reads with characters that are interesting and we can enjoy seeing their rise or fall.

Also new Sarkhan is awesome, he seems really chill. Also a modern PW couple could be possible...what possible reason would she have in asking? OwO I do hope that we will get to see more of these two, Narset hinted to planeswalking around, so we will at least see her. I'm sure Sarkhan plans on fighting against Bolas and most likely alongside Ugin, Narset might join him, because her curiosity will more than likely make her tag along.

As for the failsafe...I have no idea. I'm not a loremaster, but is it normal for Bolas to have layers of plans? If so then it might be that he wants to lure Ugin to Zendikar and trap him there.

All I can say is that I ship the hell out of NarKhan. OTP

A very solid addition to Uncharted Realms. More than solid, actually. Great, even!

That said...awesome story, well-told, but jeez does time travel stuff make my brain hurt. "Confusion reigned" says the story at one point, and damned if they aren't fucking kidding. Whew! Everything did make sense in the end, though (and in a surprisingly elegant way I might add).

Bravo.
