And I thought the last story was wrought with what-the-fuck-is-going-on.

Yeah, someone's going mad indeed. If we had this story before his card was revealed I'd half expected a double faced PW card with him transforming into a mad version on the backside. :D

RussischerZar I don't think Jace is going mad; his mental strength makes up for his lack of physicality.

But I do know that he's going to be in a world of hurt if he decides to challenge and accuse Liliana of the problems going on Innistrad; which seems to be the case with the card Liliana's Indignation; she seems pretty pissed

I have noticed that Mad Prophet's flavor text from Avacyn Restored talks about the moon and a five-legged shrew.

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=240107

That's a huge flavor homerun : everyone thought that he was mad and saying nonsensical things But guess what ? The madwoman says at a certain point ''How many legs on the moon shrew ?'' which is a clear reference to Mad Prophet's original flavor text. He actually knew something was wrong with the moon on Innistrad. That foreshadowing is insane !

In conclusion : legendary creature The Five-Legged Shrew is confirmed for Eldritch Moon ! No more Emrakul or Marit Lage debate guys :-)

EDIT : Wait, there's even more ! if you look closely, there's a mast behind Mad Prophet's head on the original art, which means the scene takes place near the shore. I'm really excited, I think I've found an important Pieces of the Puzzle !

But what about this "Object" Jace kept seeing? Whenever that Thing appears, duplicates appear and Jace goes nuts.

After reading this story, I feel the same way that Jace must be feeling: for every question that is answered, more questions arise. The story is moving forward, but so little information has actually been revealed. I really am eager to learn the cause of the madness on Innistrad.

I doubt that Liliana actually has anything to do with what is occurring on Innistrad, since she seems to be more of a Vegeta/Venom/Wario-type of character, rather than a Freeza/Green Goblin/Bowser-type, since the story seemed to suggest that Nahiri is creating the cryptoliths, and, thus, affecting the flow of mana on the plane. However, that could also be a false lead, and perhaps Nahiri's arrival on Innistrad is merely a coincidence, but I also very much doubt that Emrakul or any other eldrazi is responsible, since the eldrazi already had a major focus in the previous block, and the same can be said about Ob Nixilis, as well. I expect that some new malevolent entity is the cause of everything, and that the details of it shall be revealed as the story progresses.

Gisa !!!!

ok here me out.

The card Rise from the Tides pictures zombies rising from the tides at a place and time compatible with that in Epiphany at the Drownyard.

so the ghouls as they are referred to at one point in the story could be Gisa's doing.

Also the flavour text : "Dear brother, it's sweet that you have chosen to share your toys with Ludevic, but I too have found some new playmates."Ghoulcaller Gisa

while seemingly talking about the zombies could reasonably refer to Nahiri and the others responsible for the madness.

Anyone have thoughts as to the building on the hill in Rise from the Tides or any other ways to confirm this location

The building can be as simple as it's Gisa's home. The zombie workforce could easily be explained away by Gisa, but the heart of this is what's the point of it all? Don't forget that we know that cathar's wife tried to sacrifice him on one of the cryptolith' to that Profane Pronce demon. Is Gisa in league with him? Is the Drownyard Temple where he will manifest again? I like the Gisa theory, but it only explains a little piece of everything. I don't think that Nahiri is to blame for anything beyond ripping Markov Manor apart, killing all the vamps, and hunting down Sorin. I really don't see her connected to the rest. It's a pretty weak argument to say that she must be at fault because metal is involved.
