Liliana does some stuff (Link)

Phaetion says... #2

And Sorin's P.I.S.S.E.D. I'm surprised he didn't kill her when he had the chance. Also, looks like Liliana's got a moral compass, calling out Sorin for sealing Nahiri.

Never expected Liliana to rise to the mantle of hero.

Sorin went from dick to mega dick in a hurry.

Also; calling it now, the art at the end of the story is going to be the art for the new Liliana PW card

I know, Liliana's actions took me a bit by surprise. Looks like Sorin's not going to join the Gatewatch. Nahiri won't either because she's, well, dead.

I find it odd that Sorin blames Lili for what's happening.

First, he tells Nahiri to piss off, then he locks her in the hellvault (in self-defense), then unmakes Avacyn (to make good on a deal with Olivia), and has the nerve to tell Liliana everything that is happening is on her.

I don't know about you, but Sorin is looking more and more like a villian than a hero. He wants revenge and is willing to watch his entire plane go up in flames just to get Nahiri's head.

I think what will happen is that the Gatewatch is going to save Innistrand (thereby making Nahiri an enemy), they will also prevent Sorin from killing Nahiri (making Sorin an enemy), both will go their seperate ways; but both vowing to end the Gatewatch

I would say Nahiri will die, whether it be by Sorin's or the Gatewatch's hands.

I can't see Nahiri getting killed by the Gatewatch

Sorin may try to kill her, but with everything that is happening on Innistrad, I can totally see Ugin showing up and demanding to know what the hell is happening

Phaetion says... #9

I can easily see Sorin killing her. Ugin might show up, but he may not have arrived on Innistrad (otherwise, he would've followed the Gatewatch there). I don't think he'll show up at all.

"It was merely that she needed people to need her, so she had some warm bodies to stand between her and a couple of self-important demon lords."

Those warm bodies be the Gatewatch maybe? She joins with a 'I help you, you help me' clause?

Mj3913 That would be a very characteristic "I helped you, now I want a favor in return"

This story was very excellent, especially with the personal interactions between Liliana, Olivia, and Sorin. I must agree with the majority of users here that Sorin did not seem to be very sympathetic in this story, and that both he and Nahiri have now been consumed by their desire for vengeance against each other, as they each seem to care for little else.

I would not be surprised if both Sorin and Nahiri die at the end of this arc, but I also would not be surprised if they both survive and become arch-nemeses to each other, with their rivalry becoming a recurring plot element as the story progresses.

The idea of Liliana being Innistrad's last hope is a frightening thought, indeed, but how, exactly, is she the plane's last hope? how is it that she seems to be immune to Emrakul's influence? Is the chain veil providing her with some form of protection? I also really hope that Emrakul does not somehow rid her of the chain veil, as that would be a cheap and easy way for her to escape from something that is a great source of tension and drama for her character. If she is to free herself of the veil's influence, I believe that she needs to suffer and endure great hardships.

Was anyone else really disappointed we didn't get the new Lili as the preview card? I know that they're most likely saving her for the next Access Magic, but this was the PERFECT article to spoil her in

I get the distinct impression that the dead (zombs, spirits, et al) are unaffected by the corruption of Emrakul, which puts lily in a good spot to mount some kind of defense. Eight zombie tokens can group block and kill Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, lol, maybe we get some lore that reflects that.

Goooooood stuff. It's always a pleasure looking through Liliana's point of view, and Doug Beyer's damn good at what he does.

I think it's very interesting that Liliana sees the bigger picture, that Emrakul has to be stopped if possible. On the other hand, Sorin thinks his world is doomed because he's seen what the Eldrazi can do first-hand.

I really wish Sorin had been printed as a mono-black card in SOI. I feel like it'd fit his story throughout the block better.

It is a bit disappointing that Lili's card wasn't spoiled, but I think they showed the card's artwork, which I think is pretty sweet.

My Opinions on the most obvious path wizards can take in the Sorin v Nahri Story

Nahri and Sorin will die (satisfying)

Nether Die (i.e what!?)

One dies (unsatisfying since both are villains)

Your thoughts?

I consider Sorin more an antihero more than a villain...

June 30, 2016 12:17 a.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #18

He is pretty antihero-ish. He does whatever he wants and he's done some pretty bad things, but most of the time he acts in self-interest and for the survival of his plane and its balance.

TBH from the story it's not really clear that Liliana knows about Emrakul yet.

My guess is that she and the Gatewatch stumble upon each other while going for big Emmie.

All Lili seems to know at this point is that something is messing with the plane and only Jace knows what.

Some people are speculating that Liliana may join the Gatewatch, but, if that is to occur, I say that she shall need to become far less cruel and selfish, since the members of the Gatewatch are all traditional heroes, not villains or anti-heroes.

scopesightzx says... #23

She'll join the gatewatch, but only to get their help in finding and killing the demons.

June 30, 2016 10:03 p.m.

pizzagod13 says... #24

I hope lili doesn't join the gatewatch she wouldn't fit at all since I doubt the gatewatch would approve of her necromancy.
