New uncharted realm is out detailing the effects of Emrakul on his new home.

Phaetion says... #2

planeswalks to Innistrad, finds Nahiri, chops her up into 5 trillion pieces and feeds her to wild, hungry animals and throws the bones into acid

She's on my blacklist now along with Heliod. Wait, I can see a pattern here...

Sorin brought this upon himself but Nahri may have gone a "bit" far. Also I doubt Nahri is still on Innistrad she completed her mission already and has no reason to stick around.

Link for you lads

AAARGH

Goddammit Wizards. You had this big ball of suspense in the background you could have milked for YEARS and you plonk it down on the table right after you start tantalizing us with it.

... story is well-written and scary though. BUT I'M STILL ANNOYED.

Am I the only one who got major Pacific Rim vibes from this picture?

Aw man. I had chills crawling down my spine that entire read.

That's it GoldGhost012! Sorin is building an army of giant robots!

Ok; Nahiri at this point is beyond redemption. Bringing forth the strongest Eldrazi to Innistrad; basically condemning the entire plane just because Sorin was being a dick.

I think giving Nahiri a slow and painful death would be generous

GoldGhost012 says... #10

Now I want a Nahiri and Ob-Nixilis team-up.

Errast says... #11

I can't wait to see how the creatures of Innistrad deal with this nonsense. I'm hoping for some kind of Demon + Human + Everyone Else vs Angels + Emrakul Matchup. Maybe we'll see a neat Coalition Victory style card, where joining all of Innistrad's forces together nets you some kind of victory.

JDMCRIB says... #12

I really want to see the Gisela/Bruna card now! So much design space it hurts...

JANKYARD_DOG says... #13

Well, guess we know the fate of the other 2 angels... Was hoping for alternate 'Good' versions. Kind of figured the Gatewatch would be getting involved, but does this mean the destruction of the last titan? An end to the Eldrazi threat forever? Or is this the end of Innistrad? Hero's can't win every fight. From the sounds of it Sorin killed Avycyn, then went to cry in a corner.

Also, does this mean 'Devoid' is back? Any new eldrazi besides Emmy? Or is it just going to be the twisted beings of innistrad as her follower base?

If Emrakul is number 6 in the set, then there are at least five other colorless, non artifact cards. So there are other Eldrazi-like creatures, sadly

MTG PLAYERS: --looks at OGW's story, then cards from SOI-- yeah...Emrakul's probably gonna be in Eldritch.
WOTC: hmm, maybe, but maybe not...
PLAYERS: --looks at clues-- were pretty sure...
WOTC: keep looking you guys!
PLAYERS: -pieces the "clues" from the Clues together-- yep, its definitely Emrakul.
--later--
WOTC: guess who Nahiri is summoning, its EMRAKUL!!
PLAYERS: ugh

One of those colorless cards is one'mrakul aka bad-fusion Angels Bruna and Gisela

Homura_Akemi says... #17

pizzagod13 I would stick around to see Sorin's pain, if I were Nahiri (I actually am more of a Kiora personality type, though). I am SOOOOO glad Liliana is finally going to get her spotlight battling Emrakul!!! Maybe Liliana and Tamiyo will become part of the Gatewatch, as freelance members. I AM SO PUMPED!

DemonDragonJ says... #18

As displeased as I am with Emrakul appearing on Innsitrad, this story was definitely awesome, and I now really want Nahiri to die; she is definitely beyond redemption, now, with her seeking to destroy an entire plane to have vengeance on one person.

I cannot wait to see the new Gisela/Bruna card; I predict that it shall be red, white, and blue and have awesome abilities, as is befitting of a fusion of two powerful beings.

June 20, 2016 5:39 p.m.

Homura_Akemi says... #19

Isn't anyone glad that Hal and Alena finally got some character development, with the revelation they are lovers?

The Bruna Gisela card will most likely be colorless with colorless mana. Hopefully Wizards doesn't bring back that "Devoid" crap.

Due to the Eldritch Moon art and trailer, I am guessing, and hoping, for Liliana's card to be all about zombies instead of her normal discard powers. She IS the greatest necromancer in the history of the Multiverse, so . . .

June 20, 2016 6:16 p.m.

Phaetion says... #20

I think I want to have Hal and Alena in one card, like Mina and Denn, Wildborn were. If they get a nice card, I'll build a deck.

Hal and Alena should be the final card in the 3 drop lord cycle from Dark Ascension, except they're legendary obviously.

So who do you guys think is going to save Maeli? Sidgarda, or the order of Saint Taft?

June 21, 2016 3:49 a.m.

Rayenous says... #24

So, Jace was with Tamiyo, but just left to get the assistance of Gidion, Chandra, and Nissa.

Sorin is in Conflict with Nahiri.

Liliana is going to battle Emmy with a hoard of undead.

Arlin is... somewhere, doing something...

9 PW's are going to be present in this sets story... maybe more, as it would make sense for Ugin to step in as well (at the end to tell them how wrong killing Emmy was, like he did for Ulamog and Kozilek).

Clearly there will not be a card printed for most of them in the set. They will just be there in story, and a few references within instant/sorcery cards. - I'm expecting just Liliana and Tamiyo for PW's being printed this set.

But for the love of everything that's right in the Multiverse...! - Kill one or more of them off!

It just feels wrong for PW's to come up against all these massive threats to the Planes/Multiverse, conspire for their personal causes (Bolas/Lili), and have multiple conflicts with each other... but nothing happens to them.

Sure, Elspeth 'died' as recently as Theros, but we are even given hints that she can return. - The only real death was that of Venser.

The Gatewatch knew that they would have a hard time managing to simply 'halt' Ulamog... yet they managed to KILL Ulamog AND Kozilek, while being interfered with by Kiora, and attacked by Ob... - and nothing major/permanent happened to any of them?

I think Sorin needs to die, fighting to save Innistrad. A sort of self-sacrifice. This would leave the PW's slot open for a resurrected Elspeth. - If not Sorin, then at least have him kill Nahiri.

Rayenous says... #25

Oh... and what do people think of the possibility of Liliana making the 5th oath spot?

A oath, with something to the effect of, "If it will ensure people are able to see their goals to fruition, I pledge to..." (and by ,'people', she's clearly referring to herself.)

Probably an ETB of returning a creature card from your grave to hand, and possibly an effect like "if a PW would go to your GY from play, you may exile ~. If you do return the PW card to your hand instead."

Sorin better not die, he's my favorite.

maybe Jace should die and have Tamiyo fill his spot. we need more non human representation lol.

Is anyone else curious as to what the hell sigarda is doing while all this is happening?

June 21, 2016 2:29 p.m.

Rayenous says... #28

shinobigarth - I don't disagree about killing Jace... I just don't expect it to happen until 'some time' after we visit Vryn. - His story does not appear to be finished yet.

Nahiri and Tamiyo are too new, and have lots of design space left. - I feel Sorin has been used to death (literally?), and could be replaced. - I do believe the character is well liked, so I doubt he will be killed... but he truly is the most logical candidate of the 9+ Walkers on Innistrad.

June 21, 2016 2:47 p.m.

shinobigarth says... #29

Isn't it likely that for Kaladesh we're going into the past and getting more detail of Chandra's story? That's what I thought it would be, and if so the same would be for Jace for Vrynn, so if that's the case he could die in the present and still be back in his dedicated block.

Rayenous says... #30

Apparently, they have 're-posted' this same story as today's story. - I was looking forward to something new.

Wizards is trying to avoid having their main story go from one point in time to another. They are planning on keeping it all one time line.

I know it seems like that's not the case due to the recent 'Origins', and the time travel on Tarkir, as well as the story behind Nahiri and Sorin, but each of those have explicit reasons for being like that.

Origins was not a part of the on-going story, and was a core-set, not a block set.

Tarkir followed the events and times of Sarkhan. This just happened to include his time spent in the past, as it was a part of his travels. - The beginning and the end of the block all still fit into the stories on-going time line.

The stories of Sorin and Nahiri are just that. Stories. The story from Sorins view was even told as a story within a story (Him explaining his past to Olivia), so that it was not mistaken as 'this block is set in the past'.

But generally speaking, if we spend a year in blocks taking place on Zendikar and Innistrad, a year will have passed on all other Planes. - When we go to (or return to) another Plane, the time line in the stories will be one single flowing timeline.

shinobigarth says... #32

i figured as much. really just looking for an excuse to be able to kill off Jace, haha.

but yeah they probably wont kill any of the walkers off, and Emrakul will likely be defeated.

speaking of defeating Emmy, where the eff is Garruk in all this? last i knew he's off on some random plane. he needs to show up again. he's looking for the "ultimate prey," and an eldrazi kind of fits that. plus Lili is there too and he needs to get revenge on her.

June 22, 2016 2:01 p.m.

Rayenous says... #33

I believe Garruk is currently trapped on Shandalar.

Jace took the Supression Hedron from the forehead of Ob Nixilis and used it on Garruk.

The Hedron suppresses a Planeswalker's spark, and prevents the walker from 'Walking'. - I believe it is also supposed to be suppressing Garruk's demonic transformation.

When/If Jace dies in the future, I would predict it will be at the hands of Garruk.

June 22, 2016 3:27 p.m. Edited.

shinobigarth says... #34

In this case I would go get Garruk and let him loose against Emmy, and deal with whether he transforms into anything afterwards. Would be epic to see and they're gonna need help this time as Emrakul arguably dwarfs the other 2 Titans in power.

And heck, they could set up for Garruk to be a fairly powerful villain once that's done too.
