What Type of Stories Do You Prefer?

This game recently reached the conclusion of an epic story arc with many segments that featured a large cast of characters and occurred across several planes of existence, and, now, it seems to have returned to having a series of stories that are self-contained and on a smaller scale, so I wish to ask the users of this forum what type of stories that they prefer.
I, myself, see no problem with having both types of stories, provided that the story writers alternate between them; for example, they could have several years of smaller stories that are self-contained, then have several years spent on an epic, multi-arc story, and then return to self-contained stories, again, and so on.
What does everyone else say about this subject? What type of stories do you prefer?
The best thing to do is to do self-contained stories that have a tacked-on big event scene or two, aka the Marvel movie formula, where the whole movie is self-contained, but the post-creddit scene ties it to a larger whole. Eldraine and Theros 2.0 are good examples of that - self-contained stories that had a fairly important overall story bit in them (Eldraine had garruk cured of madness, Theros had Elspeth escaping and Callix chasing after her).

I'm ok with a combination of the several methods. But I'm quite in how I consume my magic lore. I accept what Wizards gives me and appreciate it for what it is.

I loved the scale of war of the spark and throne of eldraine. I'm a sucker for over the top cinematic. I feel they fell short with theros. If they did a series with cgi and good voice acting I'd gobble it up in one sitting. Not a big reader though; I'll read the wiki because just seeing the snipits of the newer magic books makes me cringe.

I like stories from the "Greatest Story Never Told" perspective. Instead of grand major player viewpoints I like stories with maybe a loose common thread & the story from some affable hitch-hiker or bystander character's viewpoint that is caught up in all the grand stuff to varying degrees :) I think Fblthp, the Lost should be the narrative perspective describing the chaos, wonder, or horror of it all without all the contrived bit-by-bit details. Also, the newer Darkhorse Comics Conan arch had one of the coolest ways to kick of a seemingly loosely correlated series of stories ever, Because "Know this oh Prince" when staring at an old bygone statue of an ancient barbarian king "Conan" is one of the greatest story kickers. MTG should do it right as some nondescript future character stares at an old Black Lotus in a cave somewhere & is speaking with a one-eyed alien creature from many eons ago :)
