Which Wolf?

Assuming we get the much awaited Legendary Werewolf in Eldritch Moon, Who would it be? The top known contenders are Ulrich (Krallenhorde Alpha) and Tovolar (Mondronen Alpha). Who do you think it will be? Maybe someone else we dont know about yet?

Discuss!

The next story is "Stories and Endings". The description says "Jace Beleren's time on Innistrad has been spent chasing a mystery, with a bound collection of research notes as his guide. As it happens, the journal's author, the moonfolk Planeswalker called Tamiyo, is several steps ahead of him...." I am guessing this will be Tamiyo and Jace's confrontation with Avacyn, which will lead to her death from Sorin.

There are several plot holes I NEED filled for Eldritch Moon.(A) What is the Eldritch Moon? cough cough Emrakul(B) The whole entire story of Arlinn Kord and how she even fits into the SOI storyline. Maybe fighting Ormendahl.(C) When is Ormendahl going to show up?(D) When is Nahiri going to make an appearance? Will she get an awesome sword fight with Sorin? (Please Wizards!)(E) Is Liliana using Dierk, the geist mage, to help her with the Chain Veil?(F) Who really is the Raven Man?(G) What kind of vessel of destruction will Liliana turn into with the Chain Veil?(H) It is unlikely, but not impossible, that Ormendahl is one of Liliana's pactors.(I) Will the fourth angel sister, black white, be revealed and fight alongside Sigarda?(J) Will Sigarda join forces with Thalia and Odric?(K) What will Tamiyo's role be?(L) How will the planeswalkers stop the Eldritch Moon (Emrakul)? If Emrakul only affects the living, it would make sense for Liliana to be using her zombies against Emrakul and her spawn in the Eldritch Moon art.(M) What will be Geralf's new creation with Ludevic? Will they get a card?(N) I feel Gisa deserves a new card for helping Nahiri build the Drownyard Temple. What future role will Gisa have in the story? Possible fight against Sorin, Jace, Tamiyo, Sigarda, Liliana, Thalia, Odric, etc.?(O) What happens to Alena and Hal from the very first story? Will one of them turn into our legendary werewolf? They both were in Innistrad block flavor text, Shadows Over Innistrad flavor text, and now in the story. I feel like they need a card.(P) What is happening to Jace? Clearly he has gone mad.

From original Innistrad, we knew of 3 major and distinct werewolf packs

1: The Krallenhorde. The largest, led by Ulrich. Also the most famous.

2: The Mondronen. Led by Tovolar, they are shamans and blood ritualists.

3: The Leeraug. Carnal and destrctive, they actively hunt specific people. Led by Skaharra.

Since SOI, we know of another pack, the Vildin. I haven't looked into this, but I'm willing to bet their identity is referenced somewhere on flavor texts in the set.

I think the legendary Werewolf will be the alpha of whichever of the howlpacks becomes the most prevalent in the story.

Ulrich makes the most sense because he is the best known alpha but it seems like they could almost do a whole set to itself on the alphas and their packs.. like a werewolves vs vampires vs humans set.. and does anyone know which pack Arlinn Kord  Flip is the alpha of?

I'm still betting Alena or Hal

Hal references an unknown feeling throughout Under The Silver Moon "She had woken with it, something ticking on the back of her neck, crawling up her spine. It had made her feel unsettled, which in itself was extremely peculiar. So the fact that the feeling, which had crept after her out of their bed at camp through the woods and into town, should be brought up again so soon after she first felt it was enough of a strangeness to dredge up another wave of it. She suppressed a shudder of her own. . . They had heard the lycanthropes' unearthly howls echoing off the trees, a permanent fixture in the forest's deepest reaches. . . Thinking of their howls, Hal shifted uncomfortably in her chair; the crawling feeling returned to the back of her neck. A howl was what she had heard, what had brought on the unwelcome feeling in the first place. She had first thought she had dreamt it. The fight earlier that same night with the pack had been playing out in her dreams. It had been some time since she and Alena had faced a pack. It had also been some time since they had faced so many lycanthropes in such a short span. Hal had been seeing flashes of their muzzles, their muscles, their haunches in her mind as she had laid in bed, so she had not been surprised that she woke thinking that she had heard a howl. . . The crawling feeling returned to Hal, this time running straight up from her tailbone to the top of her skull. The shiver that passed through her was augmented by the vibrations of the howl that rang out at that very moment in the night. . . Hal and Alena were left standing in the filtered moonlight deep in the dark woods. Once more, the crawling sensation returned to Hal, fingers running up her spine. She could not help her body from shuddering. The feeling was not because of the lycanthrope, it was because of something else entirelysomething Hal did not yet know or understand." That is the evidence pointing to Hal as our legendary werewolf creature.

The feeling Hal has is most likely a pre-(first)transformation vibe. Hal would be representing the majority of new lycanthropes who were only unsuspecting humans before their transformation. Avacyn reduced the amount of new werewolves, but with her madness, that blessing has now turned back into a curse. That feeling Hal had is the beginning of her transformation into a werewolf. Hal was already in a story, so Wizards would not have to introduce another new wolf into the storyline, rather conveniently turning a human who was already in the story to a werewolf.

Any other theories with solid, rock-hard evidence?

Nope. Sure do hope that they kill off Jace and replace him with Tamiyo though :). What I'm really wondering is whether everyone (werepuppies, humans, angels, vampires, zombies) are going to team up on Emrakul when (he/it?) arrives, or whether Innistrad is about to get obliterated by Nahiri and her big, colourless buddy.

In response to one of Homura_Akemi's original statements, Ormendahl is not one of Liliana's demons, the remaining two are Razaketh and Belzenlok. As for which wolf, Tovolar has the advantage of somehow remaining in wolf form all the time, eliminating the issue with legendary DFC's and Ulrich would offer interesting synergy between his forms, as he remains with the pack even when he is in human form. I feel like Skaharra doesn't have enough information or references for WOTC to make her THE legendary werewolf, and using anyone else would be a waste of the three pre established werewolves that would already make sense for the legendary. I am leaning towards Ulrich, just because SOI has Ulrich's Kindred, making him fresh in everyone's minds and introducing him to those who either weren't around for Innistrad, or didn't care about the flavour.
