Will Azor Return in the Future?

When Azor appeared in the Ixalan block, I presumed that he would be a valuable ally against Bolas, but he then proved to be domineering and controlling, so Jace banished him to an island on that plane using the power of the guildpact.

However, now that Jace no longer has the power of the guildpact, is Azor still bound by Jace’s last command? I do hope that WotC addresses that plotline, at some point, since it would be a shame to waste such an interesting character after he had such a brief appearance in the story.

What does everyone else say about this? Will Azor ever return in the future?

I hope he does return like a jaded villain, bittered by his exile and hunts down jace for revenge. However, Azor is not a planeswalker, so that is not really a possibility.

I would actually think Azor would have a larger grudge against Ugin than Jace, if anyone.

Well, if Ob Nixilis was able to regain his spark, I suppose it's possible for Azor to find a way to do the same. While I'm aware of his role in the story, I still have yet to read through the Ixalan stories so I don't know the exact nature of him using up his spark to create the Immortal Sun though.

I don’t think that Azor will be able to leave Ixalan even if the command is no longer working since he no longer has a planeswalker spark and was relying on Ugin to help him regain one and with Ugin trapped in the meditation realm with Bolas I doubt anyone will be helping him. I don’t think we will see him again unless he does the old Memnarch style thing and starts to try and harvest a spark from the inhabitants of Ixalan.
