Anticipate v. Telling Time

Modern Deck Help forum

So I'm building an unconventional Grixis Twin deck that is tempo oriented. Disrupt their game plan and combo into good old Splinter Twin infinite tokens.

My concern is that I feel like Anticipate is better than Telling Time although conventional wisdom would say I've got it backwards. Seeing as I'm a combo deck it's useful for assembling the pieces while I sit back and answer the threats I'm aware are there thanks to IoK and Thoughtseize.

Is what I'm saying making sense or am I trying to convince myself of some nonsense...?

Usually Anticipate is better than Telling Time. Though you may not even want to run either. Just run Serum Visions and Gitaxian Probe, maybe even a few Sleight of Hand.

Anticipate is /almost/ always better.

I prefer Telling Time for Delver of Secrets  Flip because it allows you to prepare your topdeck reveal.

I see the value of Gitaxian Probe but I'm a Twin deck not a Delver deck and I value the dig over the cantrip. The information provided by Probe is really useful though...

Also, I switched to Anticipate. Thanks guys.

A second question; are people playing Tasigur in twin just because it's a strong card advantage engine that's a fair sized body for offense and defense?

They play taz because he is a one mana 4/5 for the games that they don't combo.
