Now I know they've been floating around in modern. Ever since blood braid was unbanned jund elves has been done. Now with out catching flack, is there a place for nissa revane? In the fast meta she can be put down on turn 3. Yeah I know the argument you can't hit her with collected company and cascade off of blood braid. I'm just looking at her as a solid gas engine that elves seems to lack, if the games gets grindy. I'm also asking becuase I played green white elves in modern years ago and it wasn't that bad and yes I know meta is wayyyyyyy different, but I'm still asking to work with me on this. That and when I played her in standard it was her, garruk, and eldrazi monument. The white was for path and town ship activation, and side board... hear me our, I kinda want to make her some what doable.....

  1. Nissa Revane has no place in elves.
  2. BBE is not good in elves - the cascade hits in elves are mostly abyssmal and even when they are not, the BBE 3/2 body with haste is not what elves want.
  3. Black is the go-to splash for elves for reach with Shaman of the Pack. White is OK, since you can play Devoted Druid and Vizier of Remedies Combo and gives you better SB.

I know how black green with shaman can be i used to play him before BBE. It was just a thought becuase nissa was halfway okay in standard I just didn't know if her constant sh*tting out of 2/3's would be half way decent becuase elves either hits hard and does their job or they just flop over lol

Well, not only does playing 2 nissas take up 6 spots in your deck (4 Nissa's Chosen), it also means you have to play 4 Nissa's Chosen. How bad are those as a topdeck?

Her second ability is just bad - it will gain 4-6 life on average (any more and you would be winning anyways). Now, Life Goes On does more than that for 1 mana. Why not play that?

So, you can simply play Kitchen Finks instead of Nissa - you get both her abilities immediately, with a better body, at one CMC less.

hmm now I wonder if Nissa would be playable for a modern singleton format. Though yeah Nissa is usually barely useable for commander elves, but I'm someone who brought Angelic Overseer and mainboard Grafdigger's Cage to ptq's and gp grinders and really liked how my card choices worked in those meta's, if you want to put the effort into making a nissa elves deck work feel free, it probably isn't going to look too much like a normal elf deck when you're done.

maybe a more grindy big elf deck and less a fast elf ball.

For LGS events and playing amongst friends she is great and pooping out 2/3 elves to block/beat with can really be nice against opponents with all of the removal in their deck and or just go a bit wider... I run 3 in mine and use Joraga Warcaller as my key threat with ways to cheat extra counters on him (usually 2 is plenty to win) alongside Ezuri, Renegade Leader.

As far as competitive play is concerned unfortunately there are just better things to do than durdle/win more with the Nissa package like Shaman of the Pack behemoth shenanigans and other more combo like win strategies from what I can tell.

Nissa Revane may see play in Canadian Highlander Elves. I don't think it has been good for a while but....

First of I would almost never gain 2 for each elf I have almost always gotten a nissa's chosen every turn I could, and when ever you play her you tend to not be "elf ball" .... she's not agro but she's not slow either. .... yeah I get it better choices here and there but she s not terrible.

Agreed 6ixer. I personally really like her as run 3 of her in my mono green "Believe in your Elf" deck that apparently you've already commented on already. As far as it being the best it can be I Wouldn't do much differently other than swap my Immaculate Magistrates or more Ezuri, Renegade Leader and/or Bow of Nylea and trade Wrap in Vigor for Heroic Intervention.

I would play your typical one drops, elvish arch druid, mysterious perfect a 2 of elvish champ, war caller just becuase if your able to have a gavony township it's a double buf. Nissa and garruk, bow, and co-co with 3 ezuri's.... as a rough idea
