Fires of Yavimaya or Rhythm of the Wild?
Modern Deck Help forum

I have a red/green deck that contains two copies of Fires of Yavimaya , but, with the printing of Rhythm of the Wild in Ravnica Allegiance, I am considering using that card, instead, since it is more versatile.
What does everyone else think of that? Should I replace fires of Yavimaya with rhythm of the wild?

APPLE01DOJ, yes, I was already considering changing the card, but your words have helped me to finalize that decision.
CharonSquared, I do not wish to provide benefits to my opponents' creatures, and I also really appreciate the versatility of RotW.

Rhythm is amazing. It's light years ahead of Fires. Even if both cards were modern legal it would still be no contest.

@Rzepkanut: Not necessarily. Rhythm of the Wild doesn't affect creatures already in play or token creatures. For instance, if I'm in a topdeck war, I'd much rather draw Fires of Yavimaya that would help push damage through.
Not to mention, Fires of Yavimaya lets your creature have haste, attack, then get +2/+2. Even if you draw a Birds of Paradise , your opponent has to worry about getting BTFO'd.

sylvannos, the deck in which I have Fires of Yavimaya does not generate any tokens, so I do not need to worry about your first sentence, but your second sentence does make an excellent point, so I still am uncertain about which card to use.

why would you still be uncertain when Fires of Yavimaya isn't modern legal? could you link the deck so we can see it?

coltron518, I forgot that it was not legal in modern when I posted this thread, here; I should have posted it in another section.

Considering that Fires isn't modern legal yes you should.
I forget the name but there is a 1 mana card that gives all your creatures haste.
