Flooded Grove or Misty Rainforest in Collected Merfolk?

Modern Deck Help forum

I have put time and effort into building the stock Merfolk list as well as learning to play it. I've recently splashed green for Collected Company, a card that has shown up across most formats.

Currently, the green sources I run are limited to 2 Breeding Pools and 1 basic Forest, but they are accompanied by a playset of Misty Rainforests in order to fix my mana.

My dilemma arises when I want to put Flooded Grove in rather than Misty Rainforest. I think it would be a perfect addition to the deck since it costs no life to use and is perfectly adequate fixing on my part.

So what do you guys think: add Flooded Grove or stick with Misty Rainforest?

Here's the list for reference.

I think that unless u want to add some in addition to the sources yiu have you dont really need it. Being only a 2 color deck with just splashing collected company you dont have very specific color intense cards and switching between needing certain colors like jund or junk.

Flooded Grove is also weak to Blood Moon. Misty Rainforest isn't for the most part because you can fetch a basic in response.

You don't want Flooded Grove

Unless you need the double mana or GU mana with multiple cards, it's really not nessessary. What I've noticed with filters in duel color decks is that you almost always have one of the colors. So if you need that super mana fixing it's nice,

For example

Rakdos, Lord of Riots. He's difficult to cast, I also want the double mana for Terminate, double black for Liliana of the Veil and double red for Chandra, Pyromaster. So I run 3 and I've had nearly no mana issues. I could run Dragonskull Summit but I don't like the risk, and Blackcleave Cliffs is tapped turn 4 on (when I play my big stuff) so Graven Cairns has worked for me
