Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre

I remember seeing this guys art work and thinking he was pretty beastie then I saw his ability and now I know he's pretty beasty. I have kinda a draft in the direction I wanna go at with him. Kinda a control deck using either jund or grixis colors. But I wanna be able to fully abuse the black color in the deck cause I plan on using the tron lands with a unborg on the field. So could anyone point to me in the direction of some of the best black cards in the modern format?

You want a way to be able to get to 11 mana consistently. Green decks like to use ramp and use Summoning Trap and See the Unwritten to cheat them into play, so jund colors are your best bet.

Heartless Summoning? Have multiple ones of them out and he is a bit smaller and a lot cheaper.

I actually like the idea of Summoning Trap that plus ancient stirrings and Sylvan Scrying could be potentially good. Access to reanimate cards with black.

A u tron is just suppose to be a bunch of counter spells until I can get the lands up?

Heartless Summoning is another great suggestion it's indestructible and it has the ability to make an oppoenent sac 4 permanents with each attack not a bad find awesomeguy37

Not really a black idea, but you could make it so that he's the only creature in your deck and just Polymorph a token. That way, you have a lot more room in the deck for control spells.

Lol so that's where uve been hiding the meta. That's actually a great idea put in some Lingering Souls for fodder. Then search him out that's pretty good man thanks. Umm by any chance is the ability where he returns to the deck mandatory or optional?

I was also thinking Damnable Pact for a big burn but idk if that would work

The return ability is not optional, so you can't just Unburial Rites it back from your grave.

The best way to pop out eldrazi would be to make a green based ramp deck that uses the green tutors (Ancient Stirrings, Sylvan Scrying) to set up your Tron lands and maybe an Eye of Ugin.

If you want to go for something completely new, I like the idea of putting black into that green shell for things like Heartless Summoning and some sweeper effects like Black Sun's Zenith. That way you also get access to card draw (In the form of like, Sign in Blood or similar, probably Night's Whisper here), which could be important.

Jund (GBr) would be ideal because you get access to the best creatures in the format that Heartless Summoning can help you bring in.

So maybe Abzan colors and access to a 4 drop like Siege Rhino, Path to Exile, Hero's Downfall, and Abrupt Decay

Thats what I could thnk of control wise but I wanted access to Polymorph
