Temporary Snapcaster Substitutes?

I know that Snapcaster is totally irreplaceable in any deck, but I've nearly put together a fun Esper Control list for Modern except... I'm missing two Snappys.
I'll find a way to get the $160 I need for these two missing pieces, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for what to use in the meantime. It's a draw, go style control deck that runs 28 instants.
I always used Augur of Bolas as a replacement. Same mana cost, fetches instants/sorceries. Same mana cost.

Snapcaster Mage is a hard replacement and just putting something subpar in its place isn't a good idea. The way to look at it is, what can I put in here to make my deck better? Keep in mind a deck list would help us, so in a deck running 28 instants we can look at delve, prowess, cards similar to Young Pyromancer different colors obviously and so on. It may not be ol snappy but in replacing this way we can further your deck in other areas instead of making areas of the deck mediocre.

don't play trash cards in place of good ones. Just play something else if you're missing snapcasters. Play some spell snares or mana leaks or something.There's no reason to play shit like archeomancer.

I keep forgetting that I can put decklists in this forum, here's what we're looking at Modern WUB step. My current play is to replace snapcaster with Mystical Teachings and then tweaking my instants a bit to include more silver bullets.

I 100% agree with xlaleclx (even though I don't believe cards are trash :P).
But seriously, don't play things like Augur of Bolas or Archeomancer in place of Snapcaster Mage. Play some other sweet control card. More Vendilion Cliques (if you have them) in the mainboard or just other control spells. A sweet card you could play that most Esper Control decks don't play that you can use in its place is Esper Charm.
I would recommend playing more man lands then you would usually play Creeping Tar Pit and Celestial Colonnade since Snapcaster Mage can close out a game by just attacking for two each turn.

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip does the same stuff for a slower rate and more work and no flash... ok, I guess.
