What are some awesome brew-tastic Modern-legal cards?

Modern Deck Help forum

I always thought that Realms Uncharted was an interesting card with a cool interaction that looks like it would slot in a cool land-based combo deck that doesn't exist yet. What are some brewtastic cards you guys think would be awesome in modern if only they had a deck to go in? Any suggestions?

Mayael's Aria holds a special place in my heart as the first combo deck I ever played against. When I was first getting into the game, one of the people at my school (we were very casual, mind you) played a deck where he would play Aria and then cast Serra Avatar. Then, when his next turn started, he would always win the game if his life was at least 9 or more. I was so mesmerised, as I played a Ramp deck at the time, because he could win the game with only two cards. Ever since then I've loved combo decks :D

I'd really like to see a semi-competitive Mayael's Aria deck, possibly cheating in a Serra Avatar somehow.

As for Realms Uncharted, I really don't know any land combos that operate from the graveyard. There may be one out there, though.

Flayer of the Hatebound is fun to brew with.

Bridge from Below, Reality Acid, Tainted Remedy, the list is endless, I would look to 3 mana enchantments legal for modern and just choose a couple.

This card already has a deck to go with, but ive tried brewing with Primeval Titan outside of Amulet Bloom. The best thing I've come up with is Jund Titan Control. The whole deck is just a control deck that tries to utilize lands as best as possible, and beat down the opponent with a huge Primeval Titan.

A card I love and have wanted to find a home for it in Modern is Sphere of Safety. Pillowfort sounds fun in modern.

Honestly, Realms Uncharted sounds like a pretty good idea for the Jund Titan deck, not sure though. You also may be able to throw it in some kind of Gifts deck and fish the lands out with Life from the Loam.

Brewed a deck around Terra Stomper when I got back into the game after a hiatus.

I have since turned it Modern and replaced every card with a better Modern equivalent, replacing my poor Stomper with Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger.

I've also brewed a few with Chasm Skulker. One that focused on beefing him up and attacking unopposed, one that focused on killing him and summoning squids, and my most recent one that does whichever's most readily accessible.

A fun card to brew around? Why not Myth Realized. Game one your biggest problem will always be Abrupt Decay so you'll have to use discard?

Another thing you could try is Hidden Strings. Obviously it's great on Nivmagus Elemental but could also be fun on a Slippery Bogle right?

Something like:
Slippery Bogle
Hidden Strings
Remand
Spell Pierce
Lightning Bolt
Rancor
Sea's Claim
Cryptic Command

You're trying to use Bolt, Remand and Pierce to control the creature count specifically so that when combined with a hidden strings there is no way the enemy will have blockers for your Bogle with Rancor. I mean because it's Bogle you don't have to worry about most removal.

Sea's Claim and Cryptic are some cards that aggressively attack the opponent's plan.

(Just imagine the islands are fetches, shocks, etc.)

On topic, I've felt for while now that Livewire Lash could make a very interesting storm deck, possibly a storm/artifact or storm/infect hybrid. If you have a Lash equipped to a Ornithopter you'd only need to Grapeshot with a storm count of 10 for lethal, and if it was on a Glistener Elf you could do it with storm = 5. You could also run Shattering Spree as a backup and generate 10 mana through rituals, or combine both strategies with Quicken or Leyline of Anticipation.

I'd make the deck myself if I knew the first thing about how to balance a storm deck, lol.

sonnet666: Because Sphere of Safety is more fun to play. It may be more mana, but in the right deck you would have to pay a lot of mana to have to attack.

I forgot about Crucible of Worlds when i was typing this up. But to be fair, you can play both.

Boza I looked for CMC 3 enchantments and I found a ton! Eyes of the Watcher, Searing Meditation, Light of Sanction, Archmage Ascension, Bludgeon Brawl, Intruder Alarm, Witch's Mist, Mirror Sheen, Burning Vengeance, and Murderous Betrayal are my list, but I probably won't get to most of them.

I want to make a deck with the Sweep mechanic (all include Plow Through Reito, Barrel Down Sokenzan, Charge Across the Araba, and Sink into Takenuma) with a bunch of "get more lands from your deck" cards (such as Kodama's Reach or the like) and "play additional lands this turn" cards (To try to mimic a Fastbond kind of deck with stuff like Exploration, Rites of Flourishing, etc.). You can tap all your lands for mana, sweep them all (with Celestial Dawn and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth... maybe Blood Moon too) reap whatever crazy crap the sweep card gives you, and play all the lands again and tap them for more mana!

This can also be an engine for cards with Landfall or similar effects, such as Grazing Gladehart, Courser of Kruphix and Cosi's Ravager.
