Which form of Twin is best?

I just got a U/R Twin deck finished, and have been testing it out for the last few days. But Grixis twin and R/U/G twin are also very popular, and perhaps more versatile. RUG allows me to use Tarmogoyf and Bounding Krasis, Grixis let me use Tasigur, the Golden Fang and hand interruption. So I can see the reasons for going both ways.

My question is, which is best? And why? Perhaps it is a meta call. But I have pretty much all the cards to go either way, so when Im bored with straight up UR twin, I will experiment. What do you guys think though?

Thanks for checking it out!

I actually prefer Jeskai as I'm more combo oriented and I have more draw options in Jeskai. That said, I think Grixis is better positioned in the meta.

What you need to understand about Grixis and Temur Twin is that the Twin Combo is secondary. It's merely there to add pressure. In GRIXIS you disrupt their hand to clear the way for the twin combo, or just win through Tasigur. Temur you add board pressure with Goyf and Huntmaster, slowly beating them down and if they answer your creatures you just combo out. It's the inevitability of twin.

I prefer Temur if I were to choose a twin variant. I love pressuring the board, watching as they answer my creatures, then win with twin.

I still think the straight UR Twin is the best. The others work well if a lot of people are expecting traditional Twin decks, sure... and if you're bored with playing UR then by all means try one of the variants, but UR has a calm strength about it that is difficult to deal with. Plus you can play Blood Moon Main board... yeah that's just evil

UR is best overall, the other twin decks are more dependent on whats being played to be good but are just a step down from UR

It depends what you're going for. Straight up UR combos off faster, but has less interaction in the form of kill spells ect. This usually does better against other pure combo decks like storm.

Grixis twin is better against creature decks like affinity, zoo, or other twin decks (since you can get rid of the key pieces).

RUG is better at beating, so has strong MUs against control.

WUR is better against control decks since you can draw into multiple combos more easily.

The latest results from June's GPs suggest that UR Twin is the way to go. It's the most consistent at comboing off, and (as noted above by JRaynor) you can run Blood Moon mainboard, which spells doom for many a powerful deck in this meta.

Personally, I like the Grixis color combo, for the reasons above, and Kolaghan's Command, which is extremely effective against multiple decks.

So basically the general consensus is that UR is the most reliable form.

A dude at my LGS has been beating down with grixis twin. It seems good, at least at our store. Will be interesting to see how UR faces up against it. I definitely need to get my hands on a couple blood moon
