Hey there, I'm new to modern and I don't know if this'll be a drag but can someone explain it to me, or send a helpful link? Any help is appreciated, thx
-
legality is 8th edition onward with a ban list....
-
typically described as a 4 turn format (your deck should be able to win/stabilize to win by turn 4).
-
extremely hostile format with lots of removal... Lightning Bolt / Path to Exile / Fatal Push / Lava Dart .
-
dont be too greedy with your mana base Blood Moon exists.

Welcome to Modern where you don’t get the boring restrictions of Standard and not have the overpowered cards from other formats.

It’s probably good to have a look through here to get an idea of the current popular decks in modern: link
As far as building into the format, it’s not always the cheapest to build, so usually a good idea to get feedback here on a deckbuild before committing to “making it rain”.

Explain what? The meta, what cards are good and why, card legality, the general feel of the format, deckbuilding tips, current and previous archetypes and cards to watch out for . . .
Someone could spend a decade writing about modern and not be able to get to every detail.

Yes, lots of control, removal, and some discard :). People play nasty decks but their awesome and I love it. Combos like Allosaurus Rider + Neoform + Griselbrand
Here is the banned list

Welcome to Modern. The Gatherer website has a nice succinct explanation of the format. I’d post a link but I’m not quite sure how. In any case, it’s an excellent format and my personal favorite.
