Abzan Blink?

Modern forum

-After watching slovakattack's stream last night, where he worked on ControlBears with fluffybunnypants, I thought about making an junk blink deck with Restoration Angel, Siege Rhino, and Kitchen Finks. Now I need suggestions on more creatures to blink and more cards that blink.

Thanks in advance,

Just play midrange with Rhino, Resto and Finks. Don't force your theme too much.

The best way to see if a theme holds water is to push it as much as possible, then scale back accordigly.

Add Flickerwisp, Jeskai Barricade, Chord of Calling, Galepowder Mage (this one is bad perhaps), 1 Orzhov Pontiff, Thragtusk, Acidic Slime, Reclamation Sage, Blade Splicer, Dust Elemental.

The possibilities are endless, but black adds next to nothing besides siege rhino. Blue is the color of blink.

I agree, black is not the way to go here. You get nothing out of it. Just run blue for counterspells and things like Ghostly Flicker and Venser, the Sojourner. Oh, and Progenitor Mimic

I actually disagree with blue...instead I would opt for red. Maybe a personal preference, but instead of a control-y blink route which seems clunky at best it provided a tempo strategy. Play cards like Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip and Akroma, Angel of Fury (fun fact, you can morph it for 3 and then blink it back as Akroma!). Then you'd have Helix and Bolt for removal.

Boza black also adds Abrupt Decay, the best removal in the format imo.

Flickering Abzan is what I came up with.

Yeah, black gives you Thoughtseize, Abrupt Decay and Siege Rhino. It may not be the right route for the blink deck, but they are strong reasons to play Junk.

Guys, don't try to force the blink theme, you'll end up with a deck that tries too hard to abuse ETB effects not as well as Pod did. If you make a midrange deck which includes ETB effects and good cards like Resto, you will see more success.

klone13 Too many creatures. You might as well play Ancient Ziggurat.

Otherworldly Journey and Athreos, God of Passage seem like good potentials.
