Are there many dragons viable for modern play?

I'm thinking of either a grindy control or midrange deck which runs scorn

I think Thunderbreak Regent is pretty solid value. If ramp is available, Stormbreath Dragon could be good against white strategies off the sideboard.
There are tons of other Dragons but they're all before my time, unfortunately.

Big Red Value that jams Scourge of Valkas, Stormbreath Dragon, Thunderbreak Regent, and maybe a black splash for removal and Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury seems pretty solid.

Thundermaw Hellkite is particularly good because it's affordable, slaps all the lingering souls in the format, and because he has immediate impact.

You might want to check out Jeff Hoogland's evolving UW decklist that plays Ojutai and Mutavaults to get the dragon part of Silumgar's Scorn going. I have a feeling if you just google "UW control Jeff Hoogland" you'll be able to find it.

I use Stormbreath as a finisher in Blue Moon. Dodges PtE and Spirit tokens.

I would say that right now, Stormbreath and Thundermaw are the only playable dragons in Modern.

Dragonlord Ojutai is pretty hilarious with Minamo, School at Water's Edge

Pretty sure that the only viable one is Thundermaw Hellkite, though the Dragon synergies might be enough for something like Thunderbreak Regent to see play.

Mostly Ojutai and Hellkite. A 3-2 split or something like that should get you there.

slovakattack that's groovy! How about Ojutai and Batterskull? Hmm...
Mostly as others have said, Thundermaw Hellkite and Stormbreath Dragon see competitive play. Sometimes Steel Hellkite, or maybe Hellkite is more in Legacy MUD...

I'm personally looking into a UB control that use a Silumgar, the Drifting Death as a win con and uses Nameless Inversion as a way to trigger scorn while also being a removal spell to many modern threats (except the siege rhino sadly.)

If you want counter control theres Dragonlord Dromoka. Control i think Dragonlord Ojutai or Dragonlord Silumgar would work
