Aura Hexproof Decks

Why aren't Aura Hexproof decks more popular? The ones I've played against seemed pretty good. I understand they're not as efficient as UR decks, but they can swing for 6-7 power + lifelink or trample or unblockable on turn 3, and the attacker is hexproof.

They lack the redundancy of UR delver and cannot play Treasure Cruise. The Hexproof decks are the same ballpark as Infect - creature-based combo decks. If they do not get the right mix of spells and creatures and protection, they flop hard and have 0 methods of card draw to get them back up.

UR delver decks and Burn decks do pretty much the same thing with every single card and do not rely on other cards to work effectively. Consistency is also key.

It gets blown out by combat tricks (such as Abrupt Decay on an enchantment to kill the enchanted creature). Then there's Liliana of the Veil being a really hard card to deal with and demands you have a green fetchland up at all times. All Is Dust gets around umbras.

In other words, the deck folds to any sort of interaction...which is pretty much every deck in Modern.

Exactly the lack of interaction is why the deck is actually tier 2 in Modern. Outside of those mentioned, not much interacts with it and aside from Liliana, the others mentioned are fringe interactions. It has sustain vs aggro, resilency and generally bigger threats than midrange and limits the interactions of control.

It is undoubtedly strong, but it lacks consistency to perform.

Is the modern meta going to slowly transform into a bunch of mirror matches between various types of UR decks that run Treasure Cruise?

If there is one deck that's redundant, it's the Bogles deck. It's similar to Infect in that it mulligans poorly, but mostly any draw is live with the deck assuming a creature in play.

The metagame is shifting towards Delver, but expect a ban of Treasure Cruise shortly.
