Ok my question is why don't people use banefire in G/R tron? At least as a one of? I ran it at a LGS tournament and it was always an awesome late game kill spell because everytime I played it it always done at least 10 damage and the uncounterable part of the card makes it really really good. Is there a reason I shouldn't be running it?
I completely agree with that but running it as a one of in place of even just a forest seems like a good idea to me,uncounterable giant heaps of damage to your opponents face is always fun lol

But yes I usually do win with karn of emrakul but banefires a fun backup

Sounds to me like a 'winmore' card.. if you were to have the mana to cast this and the colored mana as well.. and enough to close out a game, why haven't you already done so?
That would be why others aren't running it. :P

I will say, if the Eldrazi were never printed, Banefire could well be the 15 drop of the RG tron deck. But who could tell really it's all based on Eldrazi type cards.

Well emrakul is usually the only eldrazi in most tron decks, sometimes ulamog I believe. Its main card is karn liberated

Banefire doesn't make your opponent sacrifice 4+ permanents...

Also, a 10 drop in a deck that kills you with Emrakul, Wurcoil, or Karn? Not super good.

Because you don't need it. Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is your Banefire. You'd rather focus on card velocity, land searching, wraths and fatties.
